n the heart of the Downtown Financial District, Kue’s is a sleek and modern restaurant with a warm and welcoming setting. With a lineup of traditional Chinese favorites, it is a go-to spot for those seeking lunch or dinner, or looking to gather with friends or co-workers for a happy hour cocktail and bite. Kue’s has high ceilings, a deeply stocked bar and, for those quintessentially warm L.A. evenings, an outdoor patio with greenery and plenty of seating. Diners will encounter a selection of dim sum choices, while another favorite is the Dan Dan Noodles. Local residents and workers can take advantage of the lunch specials, which include Citrus Chicken and Seared Ahi Tuna. There are also numerous noodle and vegetable dishes, among them Lobster Uni Pasta and a Sweet and Chili Miso Eggplant. The dinner choices are equally exciting. Why not start with a plate of Lobster Uni Pasta or Ginger Miso Sea Bass, and then follow it up with the Street Pad Thai? Kue’s house specialties include a Wagyu Pepper Dish and the U10 Sea Scallop. Kues is also known for some of the best Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) in town and delicious dim sum. Happy hour runs every weekday from 4-7 p.m. and features a variety of food and drink bargains. Order a plate of Har Gow (steamed crystal skin shrimp dumplings) or get something from the raw bar, where the selections include Seafood Ceviche and the Ahi Tuna Poke. Wash it down with a cocktail, a glass of wine or a beer on tap. LA Metro is committed to supporting local businesses during construction. At 800 W. Sixth St. or (213) 688-3000. Open Monday-Wednesday 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Thursday-Friday 11 a.m.-2 a.m., Saturday 5 p.m.-2 a.m. Visit kuesrestaurant.com. CUISINE: Asian Fusian, International
