LONDON - Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Annabelle Neilson paid tribute to the late Alexander McQueen Thursday night at a charity evening in London organized by Campbell. The Fashion For Relief event, was held at Somerset House, the official show venue of London Fashion Week, which kicks off today. The trio, with Neilson in tears, walked the catwalk clad in McQueen’s designs to the disco hit “Last Dance” by Donna Summer. Models and friends of McQueen had gathered for a similar event in New York last weekend. All clothing worn by the models had been donated, and will be on sale at Net-a-Porter.com this week. A live auction was also hosted after the event where Lotus sports cars, Stephen Webster jewelry, and Vivienne Westwood corsets went under the hammer. Topshop tycoon Philip Green, one of the guests, bought a McQueen dress for 100,000 pounds, or $154,000. The event raised in excess of 1 million pounds, or $1.54 million. All figures have been converted at current exchange. The event was in aid of the White Ribbon Alliance for Haiti. Trudie Styler and the charity’s patron, Britain’s First Lady Sarah Brown, introduced the event, which was dedicated to Haiti’s mothers and children. “There are some expert catwalkers here, and others- not so much. This as far as I go!” said Brown with a smile. The celebrity catwalk opened with Moss, Campbell and Neilson. Other models included David Walliams and comedian James Corden, who smooched just for fun at the end of the runway. David Gandy, Dame Shirley Bassey, Alice Dellal, Eva Herzigova, Geri Halliwell, Jacquetta Wheeler, Yasmin le Bon and Roisin Murphy also took part. Guests included Green, Joely Richardson, Evgeny Lebedev, and Sol Kerzner.
