SHOPPING Every visitor to London should visit world-famous department stores including Selfridges, Liberty and Harrods as well as shopping streets like Bond and Sloane (for international designer boutiques) and Portobello Road and Brick Lane (for one-of-a-kind and vintage). Now then, where do Londoners shop? If you’re in London between Thursday and Saturday, hit the Borough Market (boroughmarket.org.uk). Known as the larder of London, Borough is frequented by celebrity chefs and foodies. A gigantic covered food market packed with artisan producers peddling their wares, treats abound, so come hungry. Not a market in the strictest sense of the word, Dover Street Market (doverstreetmarket.com) is more of a curated clothes shop. Covering more than six floors, Dover is home to contemporary designers and often the place to source coveted limited editions and works by top designers. The top-floor eatery (an outpost of the Parisian favourite The Rose Bakery) is wonderful. W1
