This lesson group focuses both learning and competing on the tennis court. We look to build on the continual development of rallying skills, developing tactical and court positioning skills, as well as more familiarity with singles and doubles play. We will introduce and emphasize the overhead serve as well as transition shots, such as a slice backhand and approach shots. All this will be done in a fun, but competitive, manner. The fitness test includes a cardiovascular assessment, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, body fat composition analysis, and blood pressure. If you work out consistently, have an assessment done every 6-8 weeks to see your progress and learn of any changes to improve your workout. $35/hour members ($50/hour non-members)

This three week class will cover fundamentals of exercise using the fitness center equipment (does not include the weight room), get a workout while learning, and be tested to determine understanding of safety and proper use of equipment. The member will meet once a week either in a group or one-on-one. After successful completion of the exam, the member may work out during all operating hours of the fitness center and will receive a certificate of completion (ages 11-13 require parental supervision). Bike Path and Trails Maintenance Policy Mother Nature will be allowed to take her own course of action with respect to our park district bike paths and trails, located at Community Park, Ahlstrand Park, Harbor Park East-West, Nautilus Park and Ranger Park. In Illinois there is no legal duty to clear paths or trails. But if an agency voluntarily takes on the job, liability may be imposed if it is not done properly. The Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA) recommends that we limit path maintenance to a thorough season-ending inspection and documentation of irregularities, that we fix any hazards and that we post signs conveying the message that users of the paths and trails do so at their own risk.

Northwest Special Recreation Association The Hanover Park Park District is a member of a cooperative agreement among 17 park districts which forms the Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). The NWSRA team of full-time Therapeutic Recreation professionals and trained part-time staff offer safe, fun and high quality year-round recreation opportunities to individuals with disabilities of all ages and ability levels. For more information on NWSRA, brochures may be picked up at the park district main office or at the NWSRA office at Park Central, 3000 W. Central Road in Rolling Meadows. NWSRA may be contacted at (847) 392-2848 (voice) 392-2855 (TTY) or 392-2870 (fax). Check us out on the web at nwsra.org. Hanover Park Park District | 630.837.2468 | hpparks.org

The staff and commissioners of the Hanover Park Park District take this opportunity to sincerely thank the Village of Hanover Park and the Hanover Park Lions Club for their generous financial donations that make participation in recreation programs possible for the children of families experiencing financial hardship. Working together, the Hanover Park Youth Activity Supplement Program of the Village of Hanover Park, the Lions Club, and the Hanover Park Park Foundation have assisted many families in Hanover Park to provide activities such as karate, dance, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, swim lessons, aquatic facility passes, and summer camp for their children. Since 1998, more than 500 individual scholarships have been awarded totaling more than $50,000.00 Thank you, Lions Club and Village of Hanover Park. Through your dedication, cooperation, and generosity you have enriched the lives of many children by giving them the opportunity to participate in our Park District’s programs.
