L.A. WORKS

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

To the tourists passing through Los Angeles, our great city is a sprawling playground complete with theme parks, beaches, and the glitz of Hollywood, all connected by an intricate freeway system. Sure, this is a great reason to visit LA, but Angelenos stay for much more than the weather. LA is home to 29% of the state’s population, 26% of its nonprofits, and 21% of its total nonprofit revenue. Naturally, we have the highest percentage of arts, culture, and humanities organizations. Unfortunately though, a drive through downtown quickly illuminates our very high income disparity.

L.A. Works, Los Angeles’ largest and longest running volunteer action center is uniquely positioned to steer an important new trend in corporate philanthropy that is focused on action, innovation, and impact. We have more than 25 years of experience bridging the gap between corporate giving and nonprofits who are struggling for the common good. Whether it is arts and culture or protecting the vulnerable, join L.A. Works in leveraging the power of volunteerism in Los Angeles.
