Hopstreet Gallery in Brussels was founded in 2011 in downtown Brussels, in the vivacious Dansaert area. In 2014, the gallery moved to uptown Brussels, to the Rivoli building, neighbouring Xavier Hufkens’ second space. Hopstreet represents a group of emerging and mid-career European artists who have a common interest in the sculptural, the spatial. They often work like archaeologists. The reuse of found materials – images, books, objects, etc. – recurs regularly in their works.
