Government Shutdown: The Takedown Of America Jon Rappoport October 16, 2013

Another brick laid in the path to decimation While the Democrats and the Republicans, the White House and the Congress cross swords over the funding of government; While the White House orders the shutdown of visible national parks and war memorials; While the USDA threatens to turn off food-stamp benefits for 50 million Americans in November; While this deadly game of “who will blink first” goes on; Operation Chaos, the higher-level plan to bring America to its knees, proceeds. Its ultimate goal? Reducing the United States to the status of “desperately needs rescue.” That is the status which elite Globalists demand for every nation on Earth, in order to introduce one currency for the planet, and one system of management for all nine billion people. In such a system, all borders and sovereign countries would be eradicated, “for the greater good.” No, this isn’t going to happen tomorrow, it’s a long-range op and a long-range plan. But it’s being implemented. Presidents of the United States are agents of the plan, every one of them. They accept this future. They entertain various delusions about it: One, the US will emerge as the leader of a Globalist world. Two, US imperial conquests abroad will continue. Three, the US will participate as “an equal partner in a kinder, gentler structure.”

Four, the US will be submerged in a glorious international collective, for “the greatest good of the greatest number.” Five, mega-corporations and banks will make the need for national governments largely obsolete. Six, the US will finally receive its comeuppance for centuries of oppression. None of these views is really accurate. The future which the elite Globalists are planning and implementing is a sluggish, morbid, depopulated Earth dominated from a point of Central Planning, and run by a bureaucracy which would make current national and regional bureaucracies look like streamlined rockets. In this future, the individual as an idea and a reality would disappear. Order out of Chaos is the guiding strategy for getting there. Create crises, large and small, provoke a level of fear that results in people everywhere demanding “a restoration of security, no matter what it takes.” Set person against person and group against group, cut off people who are on government benefits, while swelling the ranks of those who depend on governments for physical survival. Characterize all this as “share and care” and even messianic rescue from above. Make it appear there is no way out, no way to exit this future awaiting all of us. Meanwhile, keep the world on wartime status, which has been the case since 9/11. And up the road, to enforce this New World? A single linked international army, a single global intelligence agency, single energy and medical and money cartels. The self-styled Globalist masters are doing everything they can to export the image that we are all helpless in the face of this onslaught. This is the primary mind-control message of the 21st century. The question is: when we, each one of us, throws off this programming, what do we see? What do we know? Whatever direction our varied faiths or lack of faith takes, we see freedom. We see our own power. We see the terms of the struggle. We see our own inner resources. Are these resources small or great? How much self-imposed ignorance does it take to believe we are helpless? How we act, what we do has no time limit. No matter how bad things get, the war is never lost. Freedom forever is a fact. Whether we like it or not. It is a far greater enterprise than slavery.

Stand Up Americans Paul Craig Roberts October 16, 2013 In less than 2 days, if the Treasury secretary can be believed, the Treasury will not have enough money to pay all its bills and will have to prioritize. This doesn’t mean default, as interest on Treasury bonds, notes, and bills will be right up there with the military and NSA. If Washington defaults on its bonds, Washington’s power will be gone with the wind regardless of whether the Treasury pays the military. Whatever the outcome, Washington has already cooked its goose. Washington’s prestige and credibility have been hammered. China, Washington’s largest foreign creditor, has responded to Washington’s inability to govern itself with a call for a de-Americanized world. The state news agency, speaking for the Chinese government, said that the “days when the destinies of others are in the hands of a hypocritical nation have to be terminated, and a new world order should be put in place.” China does not mean by “a new world order” the conspiratorial concept popular on the American rightwing. What the Chinese government means is a departure from the American world order based on the US dollar as world reserve currency and US financial imperialism. China has clearly had enough of Washington’s hubris, arrogance, and irresponsibility as the lack of diplomatic language makes clear: “Instead of honoring its duties as a responsible leading power, a selfserving Washington has abused its superpower status and introduced even more chaos into the world by shifting financial risks overseas.” In addition Washington has provoked “regional tensions amid territorial disputes, and waged unwarranted wars under the cover of outright lies.” China announced that it has discounted the value of US Treasuries held as collateral against futures trades, and China and the European Central Bank have arranged a currency swap in preparation of a US default. The head of the IMF declared on NBC that Washington must honor its signature and uphold its financial promises. Clearly, the fact that the “superpower” is less than 48 hours away from being unable to finance its red ink has made the world nervous of American financial leadership. I believe that at the last minute the crisis will be resolved and, if not, that neither the Federal Reserve nor the White House will permit a default on public debt. Either the Fed will extend a loan to the Treasury or Obama will implement one of the presidential directives put on the books by George W. Bush. Nevertheless, the government’s shutdown and the specter of a Washington default has made a deep impression on the world. Washington’s power has been diminished permanently.

Washington’s economic embarrassment came close on the heels of being exposed as a liar and blocked from attacking Syria. Neither the American people, nor the UN, nor the British Parliament, nor NATO, nor the Russian government would tolerate another Washington act of naked aggression. With comeuppance following comeuppance, the diminished superpower will be showing less arrogance in the future. Now that the rest of the world has stood up to Washington, the American people need to stand up to the executive branch, take back their civil liberties, close down the police state, break up the media conglomerates and reestablish an independent press. Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy and associate editor of the Wall Street Journal. He was columnist for Business Week, Scripps Howard News Service, and Creators Syndicate. He has had many university appointments. His internet columns have attracted a worldwide following. His latest book, The Failure of Laissez Faire Capitalism and Economic Dissolution of the West is now available.

States Begin To Cut Welfare Dole As Phony Government Shutdown Rolls On Kurt Nimmo October 16, 2013 North Carolina is the first state in the Union to rollback welfare payments as the supposed government shutdown continues. Despite record unemployment and the pernicious economic impact of what Obama’s candidate for Federal Reserve boss describes as the “Great Recession,” the state has decided to put an end to new welfare applications. North Carolina’s Department of

Health and Human Services informed its local offices in a letter sent out last week not to process applications for November benefits until the federal government reaches a deal to end its theatrical partisan politics dog and pony show mischaracterized as a federal government shutdown. “We are heavily dependent on federal dollars,” Julie Henry, spokeswoman for the state HHS department, told Reuters on Tuesday. “When these kinds of things happen at the federal level, it has an immediate impact.” “I would say this is an emergency,” said Alexandra Sirota, director of the North Carolina Budget and Tax Center, an organization that scrounges up government money for low-income citizens. “They’re cutting off a lifeline for thousands of North Carolina families who have experienced significant hardships.” Work First, North Carolina’s euphemistically titled welfare program funded with federal government largess, pays the living expenses of more than 20,000 people in the state, most of them children. Other state welfare programs will be subjected to shock therapy as well, including the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), an agency that funds the needs of more than 70,000 needy children. The feds have told North Carolina that if it wants to continue assisting families in need it will have to raid its own coffers. They insist the state has a so-called “rainy day fund” of around $650 million, but the money remains locked-up due to politics. Earlier this month, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer ordered state funds be used to continue TANF payments to an increasing number of impoverished residents after the state threatened to stop welfare payments in response to the supposed government shutdown.
