And here we go, a new issue of the Kylie Times! This month has been really quiet, but one thing is certain: the next one will be hectic! Kylie has a countdown up on her website and her social networks and a surprise will be revealed on May 3rd. This is most likely the first single from her best-of album « The Greatest Hits » which will be released later this year. Count on us to keep you informed and make a special focus on it next month! But for now, let’s focus on the news of this month, April, where we essentially focused on Karl Lagerfeld and the rumors around Kylie following the announcement of a surprise that never happened. Let’s have a look back at the most important events in Kylie’s career through the years and that took place in april.
1986
April 17th: Kylie’s first appearance in Neighbours! She plays Charlene Mitchell in the series, which is a focus on the lives of several families in a suburb of Melbourne on Ramsay Street. Kylie’s character is one of the characters created by the series to attract younger viewers and the actress was supposed to be on the screen for twelve weeks. However, her character became very popular and her appearances were renewed several times until she became a permanent resident of Ramsay Street for over two and a half years.
1987
April 3rd : Kylie becomes the youngest actress to win a Silver Logie for the most popular actress in Australia. The demo of « The Loco-Motion » is chosen by Mushroom Records and they decide to sign Kylie with the intention of releasing this track as a single, renamed simply « Locomotion ».

1988
April 2nd: Kylie is interviewed by Going Live! in England. April 17th: « I Should Be So Lucky » ranks in many top 10 in various European countries and holds first place in Germany, Finland, Israel, Switzerland and Hong Kong. In the United States, the track enters the Billboard Hot 100 a week after its release. April 30th: In Melbourne, Kylie filmed the video of her third single, « Got To Be Certain ». It shows the singer walking in the city, being in a restaurant or doing the armoury.
1989
April 14th: Kylie and Jason sang « Especially For You » together at the Children’s Royal Variety. The performance took place with the presence of her Royal Highness Princess Margaret. Kylie also sang « Hand On Your Heart ». April 15th: « Especially For You » reaches the 12th position in Austria. Kylie and Jason are interviewed by Going Live! before the singer flew to Australia to begin rehearsals for her first film, « The Delinquents ». April 24th: « Hand On Your Heart » comes out in England and enters directly to the second place of the Kylie first steps in charts. Kylie could have made it to first place but PWL the soap « Neighbours » (1986) pulled out a tape whose the price was lower than the price indicated by the regulations which made the sales of this format became null and did not count. 1990
April 4th: Kylie shot the video of « Better The Devil You Know » in a little black dress with a pretty short red wig. The video shows the evolution of the singer who decides to take control of her career and she shows us her self-confidence and the fact that she wants to take control of the design of her videos, her covers of singles and albums and her image in general. April 17th: The European tour of the « Enjoy Yourself Tour » begins in England. The singer will perform 19 concerts in Europe, including France, Ireland, Germany and Belgium. Some critics in the press reported that Kylie was a little too sexy in the show that would not be suitable for young children but the audience didn’t seem to mind, concerts being added because of the strong public demand. In April we also have the birth of « Kylie On The Go - Live In Japan Tour » with footage of the concerts « Disco In Dream » and « Hitman Roadshow » filmed last autumn.

1991
April 25th: Kylie filmed the video of « Shocked » at Pinewood Studios, the fourth single from her album « Rhythm Of Love ».
1992
April 3rd: A new single, « Finer Feelings » is unveiled. The song was remixed by the Brothers In Rhythm duet and is accompanied by a black and white video recorded in Paris and directed by Dave Hogan. The track ranked 11th in England. April 16th: Dressed in a vintage blue dress found in a Parisian store, Kylie sang « Finer Feelings » live at the Top Of The Pops.
1993
Kylie records new tracks with her new label, including a cover of Saint Etienne, « Nothing Can Stop Us », and their new track « When Are You Coming Home? ». She also recorded many songs with Italian house producers The Rapino Brothers, known for the song of Take That : « Could It Be Magic? ».
1995
April 21st: Kylie sings « Confide In Me » in France, on the set of Coucou C’est Nous. April 29th: The song is climbing in the charts and enters the top 10, making this song the first in the top 10 in the country since « Hand On Your Heart » in 1989. Kylie spends time in Los Angeles filming Bio-Dome alongside Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin. I think we’ve talked enough about this movie in our previous Kylie Times, so you know the story now :)

1998
April 23rd: Kylie makes an appearance in the « Ben Elton Show » where she sings « Breathe » and a cover of The Clash: « Should I Stay Or Should I Go ».
1999
The singer travels to New York to record a track with the Australian Ben Lee: it is a cover of the song of Duran Duran: « The Reflex », for the album tribute to the group, which was supposed to be released in Australia.
2001
Kylie is on tour with the « On A Night Like This Tour » that goes through Australia. Sydney dates are sold-out, more concerts have to be added at the Sydney Entertainment Center for a total of nine dates in the city, beating the record of shows made by the same artist on the same tour at one place held at the time by AC / DC with eight concerts. Kylie become the most successful female artist in Australia having performed in front of about 250,000 people.

2002
April 26th: The Australian launches one of her biggest projects, the « KylieFever2002 » tour held in Cardiff. The theme of science fiction was chosen, with an introduction where the singer arrives on stage in a robot outfit, the KyBorg - which when it opens, reveals Kylie in a shiny top, with a mini skirt and silver boots.
2003
Kylie appears in an exclusive version of the Australian magazine Vogue with on the cover, a special « Vogue » logo that is sparkling.
2004
April 10th: The singer performs « Red Blooded Woman » and « Slow » at the TMF Awards in Rotterdam. Kylie also wins the Best Video Award for « Slow ». April 28th: The Phonographic Performance Ltd in England confirms that Kylie is the most played artist on English radios and the fourth most played artist in the world.
2006
April 12th : On Kylie’s website, we find the singer’s first picture since her treatment for breast cancer, a event described as « the moment we were all waited for ». We see the singer quite relaxed and happy, with her short hair that we see for the first time in public. The photos were taken in Portofino, Italy, by her boyfriend at the moment, OIivier Martinez. She also began working on her new album by spending time in New York and writing alongside Scissor Sisters.

2007
April 11th: The singer launches her beach collection created with H&M in Shanghai. For the occasion, she performs at the Museum of Science and Technology on a construction specially created for performance. Accompanied by 28 dancers and a chorus of 300 people, Kylie performed « Come Into My World » in the Fisherspooner’s remix version, « Spinning Around » and « Can’t Get You Out Of My Head ».
2008
April 1st: « X » comes out in the United States. Kylie appeared on the set of « Dancing With The Stars » to sing her new single « All I See » and the classic « Can’t Get You Out Of My Head ». April 2nd: In full promotion for her album, she went to Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show where she sang « All I See ».
2009
April 5th: The singer appeared on a television show for children with The Wiggles. They recorded a cover of the track « Monkey Man » and Kylie became the fifth member of the group, with the nickname « Pink Wiggle » in a video shot especially to accompany the track. April 7th: She did a small appearance in a sketch of Horne and Corden, co-presenters of the Brit Awards that year with our Australian.
2011
April 9th: Kylie is nominated for an Ivor Novello Award with « All The Lovers ». April 28th: Following the earthquake in Japan, the singer decided to help the people there with DJ Verbal and release a special duet on « We Are One » whose profits will help the victims of this disaster.

April 1st: Kylie begins her special tour in England, the « Anti-Tour », an intimate tour with b-side dedicated especially to her biggest fans. The first date is in Manchester and includes tracks such as « Paper Dolls », « Cherry Bomb » and

« It’s No Secret ». April 3rd: After two dates in Manchester, it is already time to close up this mini-tour, with a date in London at the Hammersmith Apollo. The singer gave a performance of « Give Me Just A Little More Time » which she has repeated a few hours before going on stage. April 20th: Jack And Diane is screened for the first time at the Tribeca Film Festival, with Kylie appearing as Tara, the owner of a tattoo parlor. She also lent her voice to the film’s soundtrack with a track called « Whistle ».
2013
April 13th: Kylie went to Logo Tv’s NewNowNext Awards where she received the « Dance Floor Hero Award ». April 18th: The singer appears alongside Peter Serafinowicz and Matt Horne in the series Hey Diddly Dee, a drama comedy directed by Marc Warren. She plays the role of Bibbi, an ambitious actress. Kylie said that as soon as she received the script, she read it and she knew she wanted to be part of this project.
2014
April 5th: Kylie joins the other coaches for the final of The Voice UK and sings the track of Primal Scream, « Rocks ». She also duets with her team’s finalist, Jamie Johnson, the Eurythmics’ song - « There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) ». April 12th: In the United States, « Into The Blue » ranks first in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs in the charts. April 26th: Kylie sings at a private concert for iHeartRadio in Melbourne. April 27th: The singer offers a performance of « I Was Gonna Cancel » at the Logie Awards.
2015
April 9th: Kylie unveils a photo of her on her social networks where she is barely recognizable: the singer has been transformed for the Sorbet Magazine as Marlene Dietrich. The magazine was released a few months later with an exclusive photoshoot. April 23rd : Kylie launches a lingerie collection in Berlin in collaboration with Sloggi. She becomes the face of the brand and gives a press conference in the afternoon before going to the private party where she introduced her collection. April 29th: The singer is back this time in another role she knows well, as an actress in the American series « Young And Hungry ». She plays the character of Shauna and appears in two episodes of the series.
2016
We got to know in April that Kylie was going to film Stephan Elliott’s « Flammable Children » and be back on the screen with Guy Pearce at her side, 30 years after shooting together in the series « Neighbours ».

After the death of Prince, Kylie posted a message on her social medias reminding that the artist was one of her idols. She had written a song called « Baby Doll » and Prince has done the music of the song and sent a tape to the singer, singing Kylie’s words. They never recorded the track properly, Kylie never posted anything else about it and nothing leaked on the internet.
2017
April 4th : Kylie accepted (from the hands of Prince Philip) the prestigious Britain-Australia Society Award. This award is only given to individuals who maintain a special relationship between Great Britain and Australia. The singer then went to celebrate this award in town.
2018
April 6th: « Golden », the new album of Kylie is finally available. This is her first album signed under contract with her new record label BMG and it was recorded largely in Nashville, USA, following an idea from her artistic director. On the night of April 5th to 6th, a signing session was held in London with 300 fans having won their invitation by buying the album of the singer. Everyone could have spent a little time at her side on Oxford Street at the HMV store. April 21st : The singer is invited to celebrate the 92 years of the Queen of England with a special concert with the presence of many artists such as Sting and Shaggy, Shawn Mendes or Craig David. She performed « Stop Me From Falling » and « What A Wonderful World » with all the artists in a long golden dress.

give me just a little more time After a three-week holiday to celebrate Christmas 1991 and the new year with her family and friends in Australia, Kylie was back to work in the UK. Her first single of 1992, « Give Me Just A Little More Time », was released on January 13th in the UK, a little less than three months after her previous single « If You Were With Me Now », the duet with Keith Washington. The single, previously a hit for the seventies band Chairmen of the Board was the third cover song of Kylie’s career (after « Loco-Motion » and « Tears On My Pillow »). It was also one of the last tracks to be recorded for her « Let’s Get To It » album (released three months before this song became a single). It was Pete Waterman’s idea, he said it himself and Kylie confirmed. One night, he was in bed, thinking of all these records that he had in his life... « I was going through the library mentally thinking ‘What song would she never have done that we could do, that was just a great song?’. And one of my favourite songs was Chairmen of the Board’s « Give Me Just a Little More Time » ». He ran downstairs to his record label to find the track in the middle of the night, and he played it to Kylie the next morning.
« Pete Waterman came up with the idea of making this cover song. He charged into the studio and said ‘I’ve got an idea!’ I had never heard of the song. In 1970 I was two years old so I think I’m excused for that. He played it to me and I had to agree with him, it was a great song to cover. And it’s turned out to be successful so I’m really happy ». « Give Me Just A Little More Time », third single to be taken out of the album « Let’s Get To It » was recorded in London’s PWL studios and produced by Stock and Waterman (who else?). moment for all involved. Kylie’s version sticks faithfully to the original single’s spontaneous feel. She really doesn’t try to complicate the simplicity of the original arrangement; she even replicates the fantastic and distinctive tongue-rolling « brrrrrrr ».

It’s also funny to note that Kylie’s version did better than the original version in the United Kingdom: it managed to reach number two whereas the Chairmen of the Board’s version reached number three. Regarding this single Kylie said : « It’s not like anything that I’ve released before. When I released « If You Were With Me Now » I was supposed to be releasing another ballad called « Finer Feelings » but because there was so much fuss about the duet with Keith Washington, we released that one instead. It seemed like a bad idea to put out two ballads in a row so « Give Me Just A Little More Time » was next in line ». The lyrics of the song are basically a begging letter that a girl or boy could have written to his/her lover, to beg him/her to wait a bit, to give him/her
more time because it’s worth the wait. However, Kylie manages to make this song a little bit more cheeky and ‘sexy’ (the sexy side is emphasized once you’ve seen the video), and we could wonder if she’s not begging her lover not to rush intimacy « We both want the sweetness in life / But these things don’t come overnight ».

On his Facebook page, it then states « After buying an incredible Leica digital camera early in 2004 Steve finally found his muse again and began shooting pictures of the world around him » (I wonder who the muse is…). *** As you already know, if you’ve read the last editions of the Kylie Times, Kylie’s relationship Stock and Waterman was really growing tiresome by now. Their sound had dominated for a number of years pretty much everywhere in the world, but Kylie’s 4th album was selling disappointingly. Focus • Give Me Just A Little More Time
THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE SONG « Give Me Just A Little More Time » was written and produced by Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier, Edward Holland, Jr., and Ron Dunbar. The trio credited themselves with the pseudonym « Edythe Wayne » for this song and many other early releases. The song was the debut single and biggest commercial success of Chairman of the Board, a soul group fronted by ex gospel singer General Norman Johnson. The hit reached number 3 on both sides of the Atlantic in 1970.
• In 1982, American R&B singer Angela Clemmons made a disco cover of the song and it peaked at #4 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play Singles chart. It features on her « Angela Clemmons - Expanded Edition » album. She also did a 12” version that is on the same album, as a bonus track. • In 2015, the UK based vocal harmony group ‘The Overtones’ made a Jazz, Funk / Soul cover of the song. And, just because it’s fun, we wanted to let you know that these guys were discovered by a Warner Bros Record’s talent scout while working as decorators in a shop near Oxford Street, they were singing during their tea break! The song is on their album called « Sweet Soul Music ».
CRITICS • Joe Sweeney from Pop Matters:
« Give Me Just a Little More Time », backed with « Since the Days of Pigtails And Fairytales », peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, making it the best-performing of the Chairmen’s singles, and the first of the Chairmen’s four Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 pop hits. The single also peaked at number-eight on the Billboard R&B Singles chart. It reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart in September 1970, having already sold more than one million copies in the US. The first Chairmen of the Board LP, a self-titled release, included the single and after the single’s success, the Chairmen of the Board album was reissued as « Give Me Just a Little More Time ».
OTHER COVERS
« « Let’s Get to It » was Kylie’s final PWL release, and while its awkward takes on New Jack Swing, Disney duet balladry and Jock Jams make it sound more dated by half than Rhythm of Love, it’s a confident work marked by Minogue’s first official stabs at songwriting… her cover of Chairmen of the Board’s « Give Me Just a Little More Time » complements this early ‘90s collage way better than you’d think. ». • Nick Levine from Digital Spy called it a standout track: « It’s not our favourite track on the album, but Kylie’s chirpy cover of Chairmen of the Board’s « Give Me Just A Little Time » is probably its most obvious hit ». • A lot of people mentioned that on this song, Kylie’s voice sounded like Sonia’s.

• UK: The single didn’t manage to reach the top spot, it was held by Wet Wet Wet with their song « Goodnight Girl », however it did peak at number 2 for one week (making it her fifteenth UK Top 5 hit). 325,000 copies of the single were sold there. • Ireland: It peaked at 6 and stayed 5 weeks in the charts. • Belgium: It peaked at 13 for one week, and stayed 10 weeks in total in the charts. • Australia: The single entered at number 40 and only managed to peak at 24 (and only during one week). It stayed 6 weeks in total in the charts. • Germany: It only managed to peak at number 51. • Netherlands: It entered at 81 and only managed to peak at 60 (during one week) And although I don’t have actual numbers or anything, I heard the song was a HUGE hit in South Africa.

However, Kylie did sing it during her Anti Tour date in London, at the Hammersmith Apollo, on 3 April 2012. But guess what? During the performance she forgot the lyrics, so the fans saved her and sang the song with her.

Focus • Give Me Just A Little More Time
THE VIDEO The promo video was directed by Gregg Masuak (who also directed the « If You Were With Me Now » clip), and filmed in a London studio one cold day of November 1991 (although it really doesn’t look like it was cold, more like the opposite). It was the first ever Kylie video to be shot completely in monochrome/sepia tone, like if it was sun-bleached.
Two years later, the group Take That made a virtually identical video for their single « Everything changes », and the director of the video was no other than... Gregg Masuak! But don’t get it wrong lovers, the video is not a copy. It’s a tribute. Indeed, Take That were big Kylie fans and they talked about the fact that they had been inspired by her video to make theirs a few times during interviews. The videos were shot in the same location, both in sepia tone. Honestly, if you didn’t know about this, have a look and judge by yourselves.
Swiss actor and dancer Jake Canuso, best known for his role in the British TV series « Benidorm », in which he plays barman Mateo Castellanos, is one of those people dancing with Kylie. The video caused some controversy (as always!), but as William Baker said in Lalala Book : « « I would rather be a little bit vulgar than be boring – especially to myself », the great architect Sir Clough Williams-Elis once said, and in Kylie’s butterfly life we see this same fear of dreariness which informs all great modern careers ».
« It’s got a very ‘New Orleans’ feel to it. It’s a load of kids just hanging out in a warehouse on a sunny day. There’s a lot of people in the video. A lot more than I usually have in them. Although I haven’t seen the finished product, I know that it should look pretty colourful (well erm… not really Kylie…) and happy ». And indeed, Kylie is in a playful mood in this simple, yet entertaining video. She’s singing and dancing around the warehouse, with lots of people dancing with her and around her, actually they’re all men. When I watch that video, the first words that come to my mind are: boobs (yes must admit there’s been a change there) and sexy (nearly erotic). I mean Kylie’s so HOT that she needs a fan to cool down at some point. I even saw this comment on YouTube that made me laugh : « Gangbang starts after the video lol » (sorry Kylie it’s not from me)…

INTERVIEW EXCERPTS FROM THAT TIME « I’ve only done two adverts. The Accurist one, which I don’t even appear in, and an Australian advert for Coca-Cola that was never shown in England. I don’t see anything wrong with stars promoting products. I think that it would be wrong to promote a product that, for some reason, you were opposed to just because they were going to pay you a lot of money. You’ve got to stick by your principles ». « Growing up anyway is very difficult so doing it in public is two, three, four or five times more difficult but also trying to grow up and mature as an artist and bring that through in my music and my image was quite difficult. There are so many people around me who were solely interested in being commercial and selling as many records as possible and I think for them the idea of change is frightening ».

DID YOU KNOW? / MISCELLANEOUS • Surprisingly, « Give Me Just a Little More Time » is the only single from « Let’s Get To It » to be included on the Ultimate Kylie CD and DVD. • One week after the release of this single, Kylie was on this now-super-famous cover of Smash Hits (I know you all love it, so here it is!). Kylie herself reposted this pic on Instagram on 14 March this year. In that edition, James from the band Manic Street Preachers said that Kylie was « the most beautiful woman alive ».
• « Is that a Wonderbra you’re wearing in the video / have you had a boob job? ». That sums up what people kept asking her during interviews after having watched the video. This was Kylie’s answer:
A few months later, the magazine TV week made an article about this (again) and called it « STORM IN A D-CUP: What’s all the fuss about Kylie’s curves? » after Kylie had been photographed at the opening of the Gianni Versace’s London Store and at the party afterwards. all those things we’ve heard about but never happened This month, a rumor spread out and had every Kylie fan online super excited: Kylie was going to make a special announcement at midnight on Friday. Of course, nothing happened. The rumor was launched by a fan who in the end, was aware of nothing. The craziest rumors were already running: she will release a surprise album at night, a duet with Dolly, a new tour... We saw everything ! So we thought, let’s have a look back at some ridiculous and funny rumors we have seen on the internet and in the press - after all, there has been so many of them!
Kylie will be on stage with Madonna
At her « Tears of a Clown show » in Melbourne, several rumors appeared on the internet about Kylie being invited to the super intimate and special show - Madonna’s first apperance in Australia since the 90s. These speculations led Madonna to actually invite Kylie, not for « Tears of a Clown » but her full tour night anywhere in Aus. She posted Kylie/Madonna photo-montage on her instagram, and the pop fans were thinking and hoping Kylie would take part in « Bitch I’m Madonna », a song during which Madge took either fans or famous co-workers up on stage. Kylie also happened to be down under at that time AND papped sitting in a café with Guy Oseary, Madonna’s manager. That was as close to a pop history being made as we got though. Kylie “declined” the invitation of the queen of pop, re-posting the photo-montage Madonna had shared, and captioned it saying she’d be there in spirit. Madonna then sung a bit of « Can’t Get You Out Of My Head » on stage during one of her dates in Kylie’s home country, but messed it up and sang « Na na na » instead (we still stan, though... but we might unstan both of them if they don’t get their **** together and finally collaborate soon, or at least before we die).
City Games album
Before the release of « Body Language », a fake tracklisting was released on the internet with the album name « City Games ». The credits for each track were mentioned and even if most of them were wrong, some tracks were the correct ones: « Slow », which was released on the album « Body Language », « City Games », which was
suddenly chosen as a b-side for the track « Chocolate » and « You Make Me Feel », released exclusively in Japan. In the credits of the songs mentioned in the false tracklisting, we can find Pharrell Williams or her sister, Dannii. The existence of these songs would however be denied later, and nobody really knows if these tracks exist or not ...
New concerts at Christmas
After two years in a row of Christmas concerts (in 2015 and 2016), many rumors announced the return of Kylie at the Royal Albert Hall for new dates in 2017 - and not just a few, a whole week! These shows never happened because the singer didn’t do any new Christmas songs and so it was not really interesting for her to perform again to sing festive tracks, although we all know that Kylie would have sold out the arena just like every time before !
Kylie and the men...
Whenever the singer end up in a picture with a man, it is suggested that she is in a relationship with him. It works for Chris Martin, for Prince and recent rumors before she got into a relationship with Paul Solomons: Kylie is with Prince Andrew. This information was launched by the magazine New Idea who said that the singer and the Prince had been dating for several weeks and that they were inseparable since they had spent several nights together. Kylie went to Windsor Castle that same year to receive the Britain-Australia Society Award from Prince Philippe, and many people were whispering about them. In the end, a few weeks later, the rumor had been denied by Kylie’s team.

The singer is anorexic
From the beginning of her career, many rumors ran about the fact that Kylie was anorexic and she was not eating. In several interviews, the singer had confirmed that she ate well and had to justify herself every time. In an article published by the English Telegraph in 1997, our Australian is interviewed at the restaurant and came back on this fact by stating that she had never been anorexic. « I have never been anorexic. I was just thin for a while and I wasn’t happy being that thin. I was stressed, making the album, and if I lose six pounds it’s going to show. I haven’t actually eaten anything, I’m just pushing it around ».
Cosmetic surgery for Kylie
Kylie has injected botox, this is no longer a secret because the singer revealed it herself in many interviews. Isa talks about it in her focus this month on « Give Me Just A Little More Time »: in the 90s and for this song, many considered that the singer had got lips fillers, but it is not everything: she would have had recourse to cosmetic surgery to get her breast done, because ok, it’s true that it looks like it’s a bit bigger in the video. However, the singer later confessed that she had never done cosmetic surgery and that if her breasts were larger, it’s simply because she had to use a wonderbra. Magical !
« I Should Be So Lucky » is a track of Rick Astley with his voice in accelerated
Another rumor this time from the beginning of Kylie’s career, for her song « I Should Be So Lucky ». As you know, the singer was signed under PWL with as producers the SAW trio, just like Rick Astley. At that time they were leaders in the commercial pop market and produced many hits. For the song « I Should Be So Lucky », the rumor was that it did not even include the voice of Kylie but it was actually the voice of Rick Astley, accelerated so that could sounds feminine. You think that’s all ? Well no ! By looking on the internet, I realized that another rumor was also launched: some said that on the song « Never Gonna Give You Up » by Rick Astley and this time according to the rumors it is Kylie’s voice, slow motion! After the two artists performed these two track last September in Hyde Park, it’s pretty funny to read this rumor!
The photoshop of the calendar 2018
This rumor will probably remind you some memories because it had caused a real drama in the fanbase: Kylie would have photoshop her buttocks on the cover of the calendar 2018. Remember: we saw a wall a little crooked with a wave created by the shadow,
as well as a piece of chair without knowing where it really came from. With a first look, it is true that we might think that a little photoshop action was done, but really badly done, because of the twisted wall. The singer had to be forced to deny the rumor on social medias with another photo of the shooting, which shows that the wall is indeed crooked (or that the shadow created by it gives us a twisted effect). Namely we had the chance to attend Sloggi’s press conference a few years back, where the singer’s press photos were in panties and the people working for the brand had told us that the Kylie’s buttocks had not been touched up and it was really like that in real life!
The singles releases
Another subject that we could greatly talk about is the singles releases. Many rumors run each time on the next excerpt from the singer’s album, without anything being confirmed. In the end, most of the time, many launch rumors of releases of songs while the exploitation of the album is over. We had the example recently with a lot of rumors around the release of the track « Sincerely Yours » with a dedicated video and in the end, we are still waiting...

It can go hand in hand with rumors about singles releases: Kylie’s appearances on TV shows as a singer or judge. We remember in particular in 2012 that many rumors evoked the fact that the singer would join the judges of X Factor in England, which never happened, that Kylie would come back as a coach in The Voice while at the end she just made an appearance alongside Tom Jones, that the singer was going to launch her single during the new season of Rupaul Drag Race because people had seen her behind the scenes and so on...

Pretty close to Kylie’s career - like many fashion designers - but we decided to show our respect, even a bit late, and look back on his career, his relationship with Kylie, whom he had also welcomed in his holiday house when she recovered from the treatment she had had for breast cancer, and all those times Kylie wore Chanel.

In 1983, Karl Lagerfeld became the Artistic Director for CHANEL’s Haute Couture, Ready-toWear and accessories. When Ready-to-Wear acquired its own identity at the beginning of the 1960s, he launched a career as an independent stylist in France, Italy, England and Germany. Kylie is like a small doll with a perfect body. She has a strong, interesting personality. I really love her! I love the way she wears clothes; she is stylish, and I love the way she wears Chanel – very personal, so sexy and rock ‘n’ roll. Karl Lagerfeld, 2004 Karl worked with Kylie several times, from photoshoots to costume designs, but it’s also important to note that K&K were really great friends. We have often seen Kylie attend Chanel Couture Fashion Shows and/or Chanel parties at the arm of the world’s most famous designer. The first time that Karl worked on a photoshoot with Kylie was for the December 2003 issue of the Vogue Australia Magazine. Karl was that month the Special Guest Editor of the whole magazine. Kylie was not on the cover (it was Eva Herzigova who was also captured by Karl), but the pictures he took of her are amazing. In 2004 they worked together again for her « Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour » which kicked off in March 2005 in Glasgow. Karl designed her dress for the fifth act called « Dreams » (you know the act where Kylie starts by singing « Over the Rainbow », coming down sitting on a giant glitter moon). In 2006, Karl designed the red dress for Kylie’s « Showgirl: The Homecoming Tour » which started on 11th November in Sydney. It was once again a dress for the fifth act of the concert (still called « Dreams »). When asked what inspired him that dress, Karl answered : « It’s a dress with a lot of energy, in red, the colour of life, inspired by Kylie’s state of mind now ». In December 2006, Kylie was on the cover of both the ELLE UK and the Australian VOGUE magazines, and for both these issues, she worked with Karl.
In ELLE UK, there is an amazing 13-page Kylie picture portfolio (all pictures are shot by Karl) and an interview called « Loving Kylie » where Kylie talks openly about love and life to friend and author Kathy Lette. The inspiration for the photos was Jean Seberg in the film « A bout de Souffle » and the photoshoot took place in Paris.

urrently on a break after touring Australia, Kylie and Paul went to Los Angeles either for a vacation or to follow Paul who may have been working there, or maybe just because Kylie wanted to record some new tracks. Anyway Kylie and Paul were in Los Angeles. A short video of the two lovers arriving at the airport has been published on the internet if you want to see it! The singer also took the opportunity to attend the inauguration of the new Diamond Foundry collection at Dover Street Market.

documentary with videos filmed by Kylie Minogue of her ex-boyfriend Michael Hutchence will be released. The leader of the INXS group killed himself in his hotel room in Sydney in 1997, at the age of 37. This documentary, entitled « Mystify », owes its name to one of his band’s songs and is produced by the BBC. It’s described as an « intimate portrait that uncovers the secret and mysterious side » of Hutchence. The singer shared personal footage for the film, none of which has ever been shown. This includes a trip with Hutchence aboard the Orient Express, a few days in the south of France and moments during tours at different times of their relationship. No release date is known at the moment.

e all know it, Kylie Minogue will release new tracks that will probably be included in her best-of. The information was given mid-April, the tracks having been filed for the rights with the names of the people who worked on them. Four new songs have appeared : • Rose Is A Rose - Steven McEwan, Kylie Minogue, Francis White • To Be Honest - Nathan Chapman, Steven McEwan, Kylie Minogue • What Do You Know - Peter Hammerton, Steven McEwan, Kylie Minogue • World’s Greatest Lover - Steven McEwan, Kylie Minogue, Lindsay Rimes If these names are not unknown to you, it’s totally alright since most of these people worked with the singer when she was in full composition of her album « Golden ». We will probably discover tracks that have probably not been selected either because they were not considered good enough to appear on the album, or because they were not kept following the change of direction chosen by the artistic director of the singer. Note the presence of the track composed by Peter Hammerton and Steven McEwan, « What Do You Know »: as a reminder, a photo of the artists all together was posted on social networks, stating that they were working on new songs. The release of the first single that will launch the promotion of the bestof Kylie should be soon (friday, we are guessing) ! These new tracks should be performed during the singer’s summer concerts, according to a source who told to the Sun: « Kylie’s been writing and recording new music for a while and its likely fans will hear some of the material when she plays Glastonbury in June. She’s just registered a song called ‘A Rose Is A Rose’ which she wrote with producer EG White. He worked with Kylie on her most recent album and has written songs for big-name artists including Adele and Celine Dion ».

But we will see! • We were talking about rumors, here is a new one! The singer would have been approached to sing a track for a Bollywood film, ten years after « Chiggy Wiggy ». According to the Times Of India website, Kylie would sing a song composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy alongside Indian actor Prabhas for a film named « Saaho » that will be released later this year (it is expected for August 15th). The action film was shot in several cities: Hyderabad, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Romania and other parts of Europe. Directed by Sujeeth Reddy, the film also includes Shraddha Kapoor, Evelyn Sharma, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Arun Vijay, Mandira Bedi, Chunky Pandey, Jackie Schroff and many others. In 1988 Tracci Ierston was just your normal Scouse teenager. Aged 15 and living in West Derby, Tracci had never heard of Australian Kylie Minogue - but all that changed when Kylie’s catchy debut single « Locomotion » was released in the summer of ‘88 and her life was transformed. Soon Tracci was being stopped on the street and asked for autographs as people confused her with the superstar from Down Under.
The 45-year-old explained:
« It was so strange, after « Locomotion » came out I had people singing it down the street at me, or running after me thinking I was Kylie. I was in Penny Lane Records and someone came up to me with the « Locomotion » single wanting me to sign it. The same thing happened in the HMV in Manchester, it made me laugh but then someone said I should start doing lookalike work »… Tracci left Liverpool to study at the Royal Ballet in London but when Kylie came to her home town in 1989 the ECHO asked Tracci to return, so the pair could meet.

« My children have grown up being surrounded by Kylie and they love it, it’s been a big part of their lives, as well as mine. I go to every tour, it helps me to get ideas for my own act, in terms of costumes and what songs go down well with the audience - and I just loving seeing her perform. I would love to meet Kylie one day »… Asked to name her favourite Kylie song Tracci had no hesitation in immediately naming a lesser known single from 2001, « Your Disco Needs You », saying she relates to it on a personal level. But she admitted « Locomotion » will always hold a special place in her heart.
