That might be the key to why more than 60 feature films – from the 1958 romantic musical ‘South Pacific’ to box-office smashes like ‘Jurassic Park’, ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ and ‘Lilo and Stitch’, – have featured Kaua’i locations as stunning backdrops to their storylines. That’s not even counting the numerous television and commercial shoots. Kaua‘i also has the distinction of being the first Hawaiian island where Captain James Cook went ashore.
