The famous balcony at Juliet's House, Verona, Italy.

AUDITIONS REAL / BALCONY A FAKE Did you know William Shakespeare's tragic love story, 'Romeo and Juliet', was an adaptation of a fifteenth century play called 'Mariotto and Gianozza'. While Shakespeare's characters didn't exist in real-life, his play sparked a tourist industry. This balcony was added to a house in Verona once inhabited by the 'Capelletti' family. While 'Juliet's Balcony' may not be 'real', PTC's 'balcony' will be real enough. It has to support the weight of the star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet! Who will play Romeo? Who will play Juliet? All will be revealed, at auditions this weekend from 1 pm on Sunday 7 April and 7.30 pm on Tuesday 9 April at Off Broadway Theatre, 41 Elliot Street, Papakura. There are a variety of roles for teenagers and adults available, including chorus and dancing roles. Directors, Darin Blackman and Kylie Maddren-Milne, invite you to audition for this exciting and dynamic production. Auditions are by appointment.
