Evanston is a neighborhood with a strong sense of community and connectivity. Through neighboring five Cincinnati neighborhoods there is a strong sense of heritage and diversity that make Evanston a unique area. Minutes from downtown, the residential districts create a small town feel with rich heritage and architecture. Construction of I-71 removed a signifigant portion of the business district however the community is resilient working towards turning obstacles into assets. Projects in Evanston will primarily focus on community, activity, education, renewal, and connection.

Concept for Keep Cincinnati Beautiful 6

p u zz l e p a rk EVanston CINCINNATI, OHIO

Concept for Keep Cincinnati Beautiful

For this studio, a vacant lot was the site for a potential community space which we had to assess and create a concept for while developing our computer skills.. Public space which could be used for many functions with relativelty little maintainence was the recommend plan of action for my design.. The concept goes beyond the allotted space to help the client visualise the impact of beginning development at the initial site and the future growth that could come of that initial decision.

In the bottom picture, a group of horticulture students which I took an urban forestry class with designed and planted a swale at Green Man Park in Cincinnati. PLAN STUDIO 2017

t e am wo rk For this project the county planner in Bourbon County, KY contacted DAAP requesting assistance for beginning a master plan for the city of Paris, Kentucky. Along with several other students, we decided to work on increacing the greenspace and areas for public activity through implementing different strategies such as creating a ‘green walkway’, creating a pedestrian friendly main street, redeveloping the parks system, and other passive strategies that would highlight the small town character of Paris.
