Lokremise St.Gallen Im Herzen der Stadt befindet sich ein einmaliger Ort für Kultur: Die Lokremise – das spartenübergreifende Kulturzentrum mit Theater, Tanz, Kino, Kunst und Restaurant in inspirierender Nähe. 1903 bis 1911, zur Zeit der Textilhochblüte, erbaut, ist dieses urbane Gebäude das grösste noch erhaltene Lokomotiv-Ringdepot der Schweiz und damit ein Baudenkmal von nationaler Bedeutung. Bei der Renovation 2009/2010 wurde darauf geachtet, dass die alte Bausubstanz erhalten bleibt. So ist ein Haus entstanden, das seine industrielle Vorgeschichte bewahrt hat und zeitgemäss für Kultur nutzbar ist. In dieser einzigartigen Atmosphäre bieten Konzert und Theater St.Gallen, das Kunstmuseum St.Gallen, das Programmkino Kinok sowie das Restaurant Lokal ein spannendes und bereicherndes Programm. Ausstellungen zeitgenössischer Kunst, hochkarätige Filme, aussergewöhnliche Tanz- und Theaterabende sowie moderne Schweizer und vegetarische Küche laden zum Erkunden, Geniessen und Verweilen ein. Zugleich steht die Lokremise Gastveranstaltern für Kulturprojekte, Tagungen und Präsentationen, Firmen- oder Festanlässe offen.
Lokremise St.Gallen In the heart of the city you can find a unique place of culture called Lokremise. It is a multifaceted cultural centre with theatre, dance, cinema, art and a restaurant, all in close proximity. Built between 1903 and 1911, during the time when the textile industry was blossoming, this urban building is the largest old rail engine depot that has been preserved in Switzerland. It is therefore a monument of national importance. During its renovation in 2009/2010, attention was paid to ensure that the old structure was kept. The result is a building that retains its industrial history and at the same time supports contemporary culture. In its unique atmosphere Concert and Theatre St.Gallen, the Museum of Art St.Gallen, the Arthouse Cinema Kinok and the Restaurant Lokal all offer a rich and exciting experience. Exhibitions of contemporary art, top class films, exceptional dance and theatre evenings as well as modern Swiss and vegetarian menus invite you to explore, linger and enjoy. The Lokremise is also available for guest events such as cultural projects, seminars and presentations or business and privat events.
