NIEUWS Nieuws Christophe Coppens onder de hamer Op 5 december 2010 organiseerde het Brusselse veilinghuis Pierre Bergé een veiling rond het werk van Christophe Coppens. Een 200-tal unieke couturestukken en talloze prototypes gingen onder de hamer, van unica gerealiseerd voor tentoonstellingen tot bijzondere creaties en zelfs Christophes allereerste dichtbundel. Bij die gelegenheid hoorde ook een prachtige catalogus. Coppens kwam onlangs nog in het nieuws, omdat hij hoeden gemaakt heeft voor de zomercollectie 2011 van Manish Arora. Fragile blaast 20 kaarsjes uit Het Antwerpse modehuis Fragile bestaat twintig jaar. Dat vroeg om taart én om een bijzondere feestjurk die gelanceerd wordt midden december 2010. Fragile pakt binnenkort ook uit met een gewone modelijn – niet specifiek zwangerschapsmode dus – omdat daar ontzettend veel vraag naar is. Op het label van die nieuwe collectie komt de naam Nathalie Vleeschouwer te staan. Nathalie tekent de collectie, maar runt die al sinds het begin met haar man, Jan. Nathalie mocht begin 2010 de Womed Award in ontvangst nemen, als bekroning van haar werk. Eerste shop voor Annelies Timmermans Ze had het eerder met een pop-up store uitgeprobeerd maar nu gaat Annelies Timmermans voor het echte werk. De van opleiding grafisch ontwerpster opende in het najaar van 2010 een eerste eigen winkel in Antwerpen, in de Aalmoezenierstraat. Ze hoopt er haar handtassencollecties en haar persoonlijke universum neer te zetten, maar wil ook haar klanten beter leren kennen en daarom zal ze geregeld zelf in de winkel te vinden zijn. Annelies is van plan bevriende ontwerpers uit te nodigen om in de ruimte een installatie te maken.

NEWS News Christophe Coppens under the hammer On 5 December 2010, Pierre Bergé, the Brussels auctioneer’s, held an auction of the work of Christophe Coppens. Some 200 unique fashion items and countless prototypes went under the hammer, from one-off pieces for exhibitions to special creations and even Christophe’s very first collection of poems. A fine catalogue was produced to mark the occasion. Christophe Coppens was most recently in the news for making hats for the Manish Arora 2011 summer collection. Fragile celebrates its 20th The Antwerp fashion house Fragile has been in business for twenty years. Reason enough for a cake and a special party dress, to be launched in midDecember 2010. Fragile is soon to unveil a regular fashion line – i.e. not one confined to maternity fashion – because demand for one has been huge. The label for the new collection will carry the name Nathalie Vleeschouwer. Nathalie designed the collection, but since the very start has run the business with her husband, Jan. In early 2010, Nathalie’s work was crowned with the Womed Award. First shop for Annelies Timmermans She had already given it a go with a pop-up store, but now Annelies Timmermans is after the real thing. This qualified graphic designer opened the first store of her own in autumn 2010, on the Aalmoezenierstraat in Antwerp. In it she hopes to display her handbag collections and create her personal universe, but she would also like to get to know her customers better, so she will be in the store in person on a regular basis. Annelies plans to invite designer friends to set up an installation in the store space.
