Oakview Perkin Triple R Simmental Bull Sale 2021
I would like to start off by thanking Todd & Danna Collins of Oakview Simmentals for offering to host the bull sale. This is a fairly big change to the infrastructure of the original sale format and a very generous move. So now let’s talk about their bulls! This a big pen, size wise & relative to the Simmental breed in Manitoba. In this very impressive pen, quality sire groups made from exclusive semen packages and the strong Oakview bull battery are apparent. They have done a great job at Oakview on the their Fullblood herd which has a base from some great cows in the breed, such as “Pixie” and “Fern”. Cow families and top herdbulls blended within from polled and horned genetics summarizes the Oakview Fullblood herd. The Red Simmental group I believe are the strongest ever from Oakview. There are some great brother-acts with a ton of quality. I sincerely admire this young family for so many of their virtues, they work hard and are as congenial as they come to mention a couple. The Perkin Land & Cattle crew, as the name would suggest, are large mixed farmers that shoot to do the best job whether raising the next set of calves or the next crop to harvest. Relative to this sale, are the cattle of course! They study the Black & Red Simmental genetics intensely and keep an open mind as to how they can constantly improve themselves. They do a nice job developing their bulls, never overdone, just right! I always like the Triple R Cattle! They have a real nice bullpen again this year. The “Brooks” sons are easy to find. Not to wander off the point, but I also want to give “kudos” to the gang @ Triple R for the fantastic set of bred heifers they sold at the Pembina Triangle sale last November. The Triple R cattle are gaining a lot of momentum on reputation for cattle that always work for their new owners.
