  Dear Potential Sponsor:

Let me take this opportunity to introduce you to the KW Braves Junior “A” Lacrosse Club who participate in the Ontario Lacrosse Association. We have been playing Junior lacrosse in Kitchener-Waterloo since 1967, now entering our 48th season. We take great pride in nurturing young men (17-21), providing guidance and leadership for them in their formative years. The NLL is North America’s professional lacrosse league and the Braves are proud of the many young men that have gone on to be successful after having played for us in junior. Colin Doyle, Ryan Benesch, Aaron Wilson, Andrew Watt, Mike Poulin, Bob Watson, Stephen Dietrich and most recently Dhane Smith, are just a few of the names you may recognize that have gone on to be stars in the NLL. We have a great core of returning players and are looking to improve on our success of 2013. Lacrosse is North America’s fastest growing team sport and this is evident by the popularity of the sport at the professional and NCAA level. The KW Braves currently have 6 players attending US colleges to play lacrosse, returning during the summer months to play for us.

Our lacrosse team is a not-for-profit organization and our board of directors and team personnel are all volunteers. We do not receive any funding from local, provincial or federal governments. Our only sources of revenue have been the fees paid by parents/players, donations received from generous businesses and individuals and by our game day gate receipts. The days of bingo and other gambling methods providing generous funds for teams has long passed us by and thus running a successful amateur sports organization is not done without a great amount of effort by our volunteers and by the generosity of our sponsors.

This year we are once again playing out of the Kinsmen Arena on East Avenue, part of the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex. The KW Braves hope you can assist us with our vision of providing a team where young men can develop, not only as lacrosse players but as community minded citizens as well. If you are interested in serving as a sponsor of the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves Junior “A” Lacrosse Club, please fill out the details on the attached form. If you can’t find a sponsorship option that best suits your need, contact our VP of Fundraising, Wendy Bernardo to discuss.
