Hello folks, Happy New Year and Happy Diwali (Better late then never). We wishes you all that the new year brings peace and happiness in your life and your family. May the whole year passes with full of joy and you never see a single moment of sadness in your life. With these cheezy lines I would like to bring 13th issue in front of you with a hope that your Diwali celebration was awesome. From this issue onwards we are introducing a new category of inspirational stories. It will include the stories of human beings which are doing extraordinary things to serve mankind. If you know any such person send us their story via mail and we will publish it along with their photos. This is our way to bring those hidden well wishers and doers. So we seek this little help from your side to give a little tribute to their work. Recently the newspaper and channels provided you a wide coverage of ―Asharam Bapu‖ and his deeds but still his fan number haven‘t reduced much. Its not the first time that someone pointed finger at him, but still soon you‘ll find him giving his wise words to those wise fans. I don‘t understand to what extent people can go mad about someone that they can‘t differentiate the good and bad character of someone. Well I am not here to suggest you whom to follow and whom not but this is matter of one‘s judgment power. No matter how big hype this will make the end result will be nowhere only. When some political parties are preventing them and giving VIP treatment nothing can happen to him in this incredible India. You might have enjoyed reading that ―Treasure hunt‖ project of government based on the old scriptures which turn out to be big fiasco. Till date I‘ve just heard that movie directors and actors do such public stunts to get benefit but now government is also heading towards that way to get publicity. Soon if I hear news like Government emptied three rivers just to dig out some old treasure I wont be surprised. The funniest part I observed was the amount of treasure they‘ve estimated at that place. People believed it so easily as the present scenario is of recession and everybody wants easy money. Smart people knows public mentality and they target it easily and get publicity. The thing is to what extent media is crazy to get T.R.P that they are giving it coverage and helping in misleading the public. The US is under economic crisis too and thus the Rupees downfall reduces a bit and it get stabilized. The market goes up this Diwali and everybody got the Diwali bonus which is good thing.

Every year you might find newspaper full of photos and articles about shops of sweets with adulterants in them. Luckily this time the cases in newspaper are less but that doesn‘t mean there was no case of selling adulterated sweets. Earning money is not wrong, but it should be with good faith. Earning it by playing with one‘s health and life is not the Human way. I thought of more cases this time due to price hike in everything. So it was obvious that sweet-maker are going to supply adulterated sweets at cheaper rate and public is going to buy it. But as reported cases there can be two things: Either public haven‘t bought the sweets which is quite impossible or sweet-maker haven‘t adulterated much. The festive season is over now and everybody will now get back to work. The season is of winter in which we all like to sleep till 10. This time looking on the rainy season I can predict that its going to be heavy winter. The temperature will reach up to 15-20 ºC in hottest cities too. So brace yourself for this winter and start preparing for it from today itself. Happy winter to all of you. We are requiring guest writers so if you want to publish your article in our magazine you can mail it us at bookbored@gmail.com along with your name, city and email id. The article must be related to any one of the category of the magazine for the acceptance. Editor Kuldeep K Sarvaiya Protyle magazine info@protylehealthcare.com

Stroke A stroke is a condition in which the brain cells suddenly die because of a lack of oxygen. This can be caused by an obstruction in the blood flow, or the rupture of an artery that feeds the brain. The patient may suddenly lose the ability to speak, there may be memory problems, or one side of the body can become paralyzed.

Types The two main types of stroke include ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. Ischemic stroke accounts for about three-quarters of all strokes and occurs when a blood clot, or thrombus, forms that blocks blood flow to part of the brain. If a blood clot forms somewhere in the body and breaks off to become free-floating, it is called an embolus. This wandering clot may be carried through the bloodstream to the brain where it can cause ischemic stroke. A hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel on the brain's surface ruptures and fills the space between the brain and skull with blood (subarachnoid hemorrhage) or when a defective artery in the brain bursts and fills the surrounding tissue with blood (cerebral hemorrhage).

Risk Factors      

African American, Hispanic or Asian/Pacific Islander A family history of stroke A previous stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) High levels of homocysteine (an amino acid in blood) Birth control use or other hormone therapy Heavy use of alcohol

         

Male Over age 55 High blood pressure Diabetes Cardiovascular disease Smoking cigarettes High cholesterol Obesity and overweight Cocaine use Depression

Causes Ischemic strokes are ultimately caused by a thrombus or embolus that blocks blood flow to the brain. Blood clots (thrombus clots) usually occur in areas of the arteries that have been damaged by atherosclerosis from a buildup of plaques. Embolus type blood clots are often caused by atrial fibrillation - an irregular pattern of heart beat that leads to blood clot formation and poor blood flow. Hemorrhage strokes can be caused by uncontrolled high blood pressure, a head injury, or aneurysms. High blood pressure is the most common cause of cerebral hemorrhage, as it causes small arteries inside the brain to burst. This deprives brain cells of blood and dangerously increases pressure on the brain.

Symptoms       

Dizziness, trouble walking, loss of balance and coordination Speech problems Numbness, weakness, or paralysis on one side of the body Blurred, blackened, or double vision Sudden severe headache Smaller strokes (or silent strokes), however, may not cause any symptoms, but can still damage brain tissue. A possible sign that a stroke is about to occur is called a transient ischemic attack (TIA) - a temporary interruption in blood flow to part of the brain. Symptoms of TIA are similar to stroke but last for a shorter time period and do not leave noticeable permanent damage.

Diagnosis 

Physical assessment - blood pressure tests and blood tests to see cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, and amino acid levels

Ultrasound - a wand waved over the carotid arteries in the neck can provide a picture that indicates any narrowing or clotting 

Arteriography - a catheter is inserted into the arteries to inject a dye that can be picked up by X-rays 

Computerized tomography (CT) scan - a scanning device that creates a 3-D image that can show aneurysms, bleeding, or abnormal vessels within the brain 

Issue 13

6

November 2013

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) - a magnetic field generates a 3-D view of the brain to see tissue damaged by stroke 

CT and MRI with angiography - scans that are aided by a dye that is injected into the blood vessels in order to provide clearer and more detailed images 

Echocardiography - an ultrasound that makes images of the heart to check for embolus 

Treatment The primary goal in treating ischemic stroke is to restore blood flow to the brain. This will be attempted using blood clot-busting drugs such as aspirin, heparin, or tissue plasminogen activators that must be administered within three hours of the stroke. In addition, surgical procedures may be performed that can open up or widen arteries. These include carotid endarterectomy (removal of plaque and widening of the carotid artery) and angioplasty (a balloon that widens the carotid artery and is held open with a metallic mesh tube called a stent).

Vaquita Status :Critically Endangered The vaquita (Phocoena sinus) is a rare species Population : Around 100of porpoise. It is endemic to the northern part 300 Individuals of the Gulf of California. The word "vaquita" is Scientific Name : Spanish for little cow. Since the baiji (Lipotes Phocoena sinus vexillifer) is believed to have gone extinct in Weight : 50-55 kg 2006, the vaquita has taken on the title of the most endangered cetacean in the world. Other names include cochito, desert porpoise, Gulf of California harbor porpoise, Gulf of California porpoise, and gulf porpoise.

Habitat The habitat of the vaquita is restricted to the northern area of the Gulf of California, or Sea of Cortez. Vaquitas live in shallow, murky lagoons along the shoreline. They rarely swim deeper than 30 meters and are known to survive in lagoons so shallow that their back protrudes above the surface. The vaquita is most often sighted in water 11 to 50 metres deep, 11 to 25 kilometres from the coast, over silt and clay bottoms. Vaquitas tend to choose habitats with turbid waters, due to the fact that they have high nutrient content.

Characteristics The vaquita are the smallest and most endangered species of the cetacean order and are found only in the northern end of the Gulf of California. The vaquita has a classic porpoise shape. They are stocky and curve into a star shape when viewed from the side. The species is distinguishable by the dark rings surrounding their eyes, patches on their lips, and a line that extends from their dorsal fins to their mouth. Their back is a dark grey that fades to a white underside. As vaquitas mature, the shades of grey lighten. Female vaquitas tend to grow a bit larger to that of the male. Females usually end up at a length of 140.6 cm, to the males 134.9 cm. Vaquitas use sonar as a way for them to communicate with one another and for navigating through their habitats. They rise to breathe with a slow forward motion and then disappear quickly, barely being seen. Vaquitas are usually alone unless they are accompanied by a calf, meaning that they are less social than other dolphin species. They are usually never at the surface. Some of the most common food for the Vaquita includes groats, croakers, and sea trout or telecost (fish with bony skeletons).

Issue 13

8

November 2013

Threats Other culprits of human-based threats on the vaquita population include pollutants and habitat alterations. The habitat of the vaquita is small and the food supply in marine environments is largely dependent on water levels. The damming of the upper Colorado river has potentially decreased the food supply by decreasing water levels, indirectly effecting the vaquita population and ability to reproduce. Despite the potential detrimental effects, it is important to note that most of the recovered bodies of the vaquitas show no signs of emaciation or environmental stressors, implying that the decline in the vaquita population is accredited almost solely to by-catch.

Impact Although the vaquita accounts for only a small percentage of the diets of sharks in the region, extinction of the vaquita could potentially cause negative effects on shark population sizes. Extinction of the vaquita may also impact the vaquita prey populations in the Northern Gulf ecosystem. The disappearance of the vaquita could lead to potential over-population of their prey species such as benthic fishes, squid, and crustaceans. With less vaquita porpoise individuals in the habitat, there will eventually be significantly less contact between the different sexes and consequently less reproduction. With an even lower reproductive rate, the rate of population decline will increase. With lower contact levels between sexes, there may likely be reduced fitness due to inbreeding and less genetic variability in the gene pool, following the bottleneck effect. When the genomes of mating pairs are more similar, recessive traits appear more often in offspring. The more related two individuals are in the breeding pair, the more deleterious homozygous genes the offspring will likely have which can greatly lower fitness in the offspring.

Conservation The U.S. government has listed the vaquita as endangered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The vaquita is also listed by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Convention on International Trade in the Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in the most critical category at risk of extinction. Mexico is predominantly leading conservation efforts with the creation of the International Committee for the Recovery of the Vaquita (CIRVA), which has attempted to help prevent the accidental deaths of vaquita by outlawing the use of fishing nets within the vaquita‘s habitat. CIRVA has worked together with the CITES, the ESA, and the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) to make a plan to nurse the vaquita population back to a point at which they can sustain themselves. In the rent-out option fishermen acquire temporary contractual obligations to carry out conservation efforts. They are paid if they agree to terminated their fishing inside the Vaquita refuge area. There is a penalty if fisherman breach the contract which includes getting their vessels taken by the government.

Firefox OS The current mobile operating systems are mainly IOS, android or windows based, but now Mozilla, the non profit organization has developed (is developing) Linux based open source operating system for smart phones and tablet computers. Firefox OS is designed to provide a "complete" community-based alternative system for mobile devices, using open standards and approaches such as HTML5 applications, JavaScript, a robust privilege model, open web APIs to communicate directly with cellphone hardware, and application marketplace. As such, it competes with proprietary systems such as Apple's iOS and Microsoft's Windows Phone, as well as other open source systems such as Android, Jolla's Sailfish OS and Ubuntu Touch. Firefox OS was publicly demonstrated in February 2012, on Androidcompatible smartphones, and again in 2013 running on Raspberry Pi. In January 2013, at CES 2013, ZTE confirmed they would be shipping a smartphone with Firefox OS, and on July 2, 2013, Telefónica launched the first commercial Firefox OS based phone, ZTE Open, in Spain which was quickly followed by GeeksPhone's Peak+.

Project Inception On July 25, 2011, Dr. Andreas Gal, Director of Research at Mozilla Corporation, announced the "Boot to Gecko" Project (B2G) on the mozilla.dev.platform mailing list. The project proposal was to "pursue the goal of building a complete, standalone operating system for the open web" in order to "find the gaps that keep web developers from being able to build apps that are – in every way – the equals of native apps built for the iPhone (iOS), Android, and WP7 (Windows Phone 7)." The announcement identified these work areas: new web APIs to expose device and OS capabilities such as telephone and camera, a privilege model to safely expose these to web pages, applications to prove these capabilities, and low-level code to boot on an Android-compatible device. In 2012, Mozilla‘s Director of Research Andreas Gal expanded on Mozilla's aims. He characterized the current set of mobile OS systems as "walled gardens" and presented Firefox OS as more accessible: "We use completely open standards and there‘s no proprietary software or technology involved." Gal also said that because the software stack is entirely HTML5, there are already a

large number of established developers. This assumption is employed in Mozilla's WebAPI.] These are intended W3C standards that attempt to bridge the capability gap that currently exists between native frameworks and web applications. The goal of these efforts is to enable developers to build applications using WebAPI which would then run in any standards compliant browser without the need to rewrite their application for each platform.

Effects The firefox OS will surely affect the app store market. There will be decline in its growth and monopoly of google play store might reduce. As it is simple in its structure and easy to use it will surely break the market of android. Due to open source type, more and more creative versions will be available which might turn the crowd towards its use.

Criticism Chris Ziegler of the technology blog The Verge wrote that it will take app distribution to pre-iPhone era, requiring application developers to deal with multiple carriers and their app stores. But at the Mobile World Congress, Gary Kovacs, the CEO of Mozilla, said that the devices matter less than what they're able to run; apps make or break a mobile platform these days, not hardware, and the advantage is that users don't have to install an app to use it. Janne Lindqvist, a mobile security researcher at the Rutgers University Winlab, expressed concerns related to the discovery mechanism of a web-based platform, but a Mozilla spokesperson has stated that they are "requiring developers to package downloadable apps in a zip file that has been cryptographically signed by the store from which it originated, assuring that it has been reviewed."

Telangana: The another state Disclaimer: The given article is just for sake of awareness and it does not target any particular person or institution or anything. The magazine or author do not want to hurt sentiments of anybody. Telangana State is formed as an outcome of telangana movement from existing state of Andhra Pradesh. The proposed new state corresponds to the Teluguspeaking portions of the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad. Hyderabad will be the joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for 10 years.

History In December 1953, the States Reorganization Commission was appointed to prepare for the creation of states on linguistic lines. The commission, due to public demand, recommended disintegration of Hyderabad state and to merge Marathi speaking region with Bombay state and Kannada speaking region with Mysore state. The States Reorganisation Commission (SRC) discussed pros and cons of the merger of Telugu speaking Telangana region of Hyderabad state with Andhra state. Para 374 of the SRC report said "The creation of Vishalandhra is an ideal to which numerous individuals and public bodies, both in Andhra and Telangana, have been passionately attached over a long period of time, and unless there are strong reasons to the contrary, this sentiment is entitled to consideration". Discussing the case of Telangana, para 378 of the SRC report said "One of the principal causes of opposition of Vishalandhra also seems to be the apprehension felt by the educationally backward people of Telangana that they may be swamped and exploited by the more advanced people of the coastal areas." In its final analysis SRC recommended against the immediate merger. In para 386 it said "After taking all these factors into consideration we have come to the conclusions that it will be in the interests of Andhra as well as Telangana, if for the present, the Telangana area is to constitute into a separate State, which may be known as the Hyderabad State with provision for its unification with Andhra after the general elections likely to be held in or about 1961 if by a two thirds majority the legislature of the residuary Hyderabad State expresses itself in favor of such unification." After going through the recommendations of the SRC, the then Central Government led by Jawaharlal Nehru decided to merge Andhra state and Telangana to form Andhra Pradesh state on 1 November 1956 after providing safeguards to Telangana in the form of Gentleman's agreement.

Political view 

Parties which were in favor of Telangana state before 9 December 2009, but changed the stand to neutral on 10 December 2009, the day the process for formation of Telangana state was announced by central government and later retracted on 23 December.

After 9 December 2009, Jagan Mohan Reddy as a Congress MP opposed the Telangana state formation. After he formed the YSR Congress party, it adopted a neutral stand.

The Praja Rajyam Party of actor-politician Chiranjeevi was against the division of the state, but merged into the Congress in 2011.

Changed its stand in 2012 and said it will welcome the formation of a separate state as part of a comprehensive and amicable solution. It however states that the real issue is to improve the lives of people - even if a separate state is created or not.

During the all party meeting on 28 December 2012, TDP representatives gave a letter signed by its president to Home minister of India which said that the party had never withdrawn its letter to Pranab Mukherjee in 2008 which supported Telangana state formation.

MIM wants the state to remain united. If division is unavoidable, the party wants a separate state of Rayala-Telangana with Telangana & Rayalseema regions along with Hyderabad as capital. They oppose Hyderabad being declared as a union territory.

The Politics 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Marri Chenna Reddy fuelled large scale Telangana agitation and took it easy when he was given Chief Ministership. KCR re-ignited the same movement after two decades when his boss CBN didn't confer him a ministry. YSR promised Telangana before 2004 elections but kicked it's butt after getting elected. CBN promised Telangana as a part of Maha-kootami before 2009 elections but made a flagrant U-turn. BJP supported Telangana clearly knowing they have nothing to lose in Seemandhra.

Issue 13

6.

But the master-stroke is from Sonia Gandhi under current context. She:

Realized that congress will be rooted from AP Declared Telangana with caveat for KCR that he should merge TRS with them while enjoying CMship. Thus Telangana belongs to Congress and all Cong / TRS MP's support UPA in 2014 polls Will negotiate with Jagan (post poll alliance) to either merge or unconditionally support UPA in 2014 polls in return for CMship and clean chit from CBI. Andhra state too in pocket Checkmated BJP who promised to declare Telangana if they come to power Checkmated TDP in Andhra for not acting against split-up and in Telangana for not doing anything for separation.

 

Pros and Cons The pro-Telangana movement draws most of its support from those who feel that the area has been economically neglected by New Delhi and by the state government of Andhra Pradesh; it was galvanized by a 2009 hunger strike by K. Chandrasekhara Rao, chief of the separatist Telangana Rashtra Samithi party. But the more recent catalyst for the formation of India‘s 29th state is more calculated. After dragging its feet on the issue for years, simple electioneering appears to be the reason for New Delhi‘s sudden approval of the creation of Telagana, over the loud protests of the rest of Andhra Pradesh (previously, parent-state approval was a condition for the secession of a region as a separate entity). The mathematics is plain. A Congress Party beset by corruption scandals and blamed for a slowing economy has noticed that almost half of Andhra Pradesh‘s 42 parliamentary seats lie in what is now Telangana. Giving in to separatist demands and tying up with Rao‘s party holds the promise of those seats being delivered in general elections slated for 2014.

Issue 13

16

November 2013

Reaction to the creation of India‘s newest state has been swift and harsh. Twelve Congress Party legislators resigned in protest in Andhra Pradesh, which has been crippled by protests and strikes opposing the Telagana secession. Elsewhere in the country, other separatist movements felt emboldened to intensify their statehood demands. The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha party, which is demanding an ethnically Nepali Gorkhaland to be carved out of West Bengal, called for a 72-hour shutdown of Darjeeling. It resembled a ghost town on Monday with deserted roads being patrolled by Indian troops. Economically too, there something to be said for statehood, at least in the short term. Chhattisgarh and two other states also created in 2000, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand, all recorded rapid development after secession and marked improvements in the implementation of various developmental schemes like a federal job-guarantee program. Critics argue that small states are more dependent on the central government and, in seeking to attract investment, become more vulnerable to the depredations of large corporations and even organized crime.

Understanding Women

Well, the topic of current article is great point of debate which is never going to end. Understanding a women is still out of reach of our current knowledge and our science advancements. There still is no instrument which can say exactly what exactly is women thinking in her mind. There are lot many things which man still don‘t know about women. I would like to list few: 

Men can never predict about their next emotion. At one instance of time they might be happy like anything and on the next, you‘ll find the hell of sadness in them. Just a small mistake of you and the mood swings. Even the patient of severe mood disorder will not be having this kind of problem but women have.

Men can never know what makes women happy. Their moment of happiness is arbitrary just like position of electron in the atom. You can predict that it can be here but can‘t locate exactly. The topic or thing which make them happy at one particular time may not make them on another day.

You can never know on what topic they start a fight. Women generally fight on any topic. They don‘t need any topic for fight. They can make you regret even you haven‘t made any mistake. No matter whoever has started the fight, the winner is always a women.

You can never guess the topic of their gossip. It starts with some random topic and it ends with the most irrelevant topic of world. The topic which was started will never match with the topic at the end of conversation. There can never be a single connection between those two topics.

You can never predict why she is angry on you? The topic might be 6-8 months old which you might have ignored by that time. You may require 23 days just to know the reason why she was angry and still you won‘t be able to guess that.

Well there are much more topics then I‘ve listed over here but a bachelor can‘t write much about this. For this you have to refer married man with age of 35 or 40 and he will describe you the best about the problems he has faced or he is

Issue 13

21

November 2013

facing. I‘ve mentioned the age 35 or 40 just because the newly married man will never find any problem with his wife. He is blind for about 5-7 years of his marriage life. He can never pin point any single problem in her wife till that time but once this chewing gum is out of taste the problem starts. Before that point of time he ignores all the problem but later he start making list of all those things. If you want to write a book on this topic you could write 1000 page book which will be totally blank. You might have seen that book on the internet. If not here is the preview of that book.

No matter how hard you try it‘s a certain thing that men can never understand women. But loosing hope is not men‘s type. There are few things we can try which enable us to ignore the fact not understanding the women. None of these are tested by me so try those at your own risk and if you find them valid please mail me the one worked in your case. As science is trail and error we need to take some risk and do it. So here are few things which you can try to understand a women: 

Try to talk with her and do exactly the way she dictate. This idea work only if you have problem with single women. If you have to deal with more then one then for sure you will get in trouble (as per my personal Experience).

Issue 13 

22

November 2013

Never get involved in argument with her and say sorry immediately to avoid any kind of backfire. Its not so that you have to say sorry for your mistakes only, you have to do it for her mistake too. Never ever dare to prove them wrong, you will have to pay for your that mistake later. Always keep her happy. The good thing is women have tendency to laugh even on the stupid jokes so you don‘t have to worry much even you don‘t have good sense of humor just like me. Just crack some stupid joke and leave the place immediately before the war starts. Always avoid going shopping with her. Never go for that because if you go, you will get irritated from her shopping sense which might change your mood. Women have great sense to detect that and by one or the other way she find your fault and no need to tell the rest of the thing.

These few ideas are just to avoid the situation. If you make even single mistake in that and its your hard time. The smart man never faces the problem even he have to deal with many women. Its not so that he understands women, he handles them carefully just like grocery. They know how and when to deliver the cheezy line which make them forget about fight. They always appreciate their look, their work and everything even its far away from reality. The real stupidity is making these things public. The smart men are good liar which even lie detector can‘t detect. If you are not this smart and you don‘t have good way of delivering the cheezy lines then only one option left with you is avoiding women. I know many of you can‘t do that. But prevention is better then cure. The author tried his best but the conclusion I get is you can never get them. We can hope for new technology soon which can make us enable understand them, but for this point of time its far away from normal people‘s reach.

Spongebob Squarepants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series, created by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg. The series chronicles the exploits and adventures of the title character and his various friends in the fictional underwater city of Bikini Bottom. The series' popularity has made it a media franchise, contributing to its position as Nickelodeon's highest rated show, the most distributed property of MTV Networks, and among Nicktoons' most watched shows. The media franchise generated an $8 billion merchandising revenue for Nickelodeon. Creator Stephen Hillenburg initially conceived SpongeBob SquarePants in 1984, while he was teaching and studying marine biology at what is now the Orange County Ocean Institute. During this period, Hillenburg became fascinated with animation, and wrote a comic book entitled The Intertidal Zone starring various anthropomorphic forms of sea life, many of which would evolve into SpongeBob SquarePants characters, including "Bob the Sponge", who was the co-host of the comic and resembled an actual sea sponge, as opposed to SpongeBob who resembles a kitchen sponge.

Characters The show revolves around its title character and his various friends. 

SpongeBob SquarePants is an energetic and optimistic sea sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea with his pet snail, Gary, who meows like a cat.

Living two houses down from SpongeBob is his best friend Patrick Star, a dim-witted yet friendly pink starfish who lives under a rock. Even despite his "mental setbacks", Patrick still sees himself as intelligent.

Squidward Tentacles is SpongeBob's next-door neighbor and co-worker at the Krusty Krab. Squidward is an arrogant and ill-tempered octopus who lives in an Easter Island moai and dislikes his neighbors (especially SpongeBob) for their child like behavior. He enjoys playing the clarinet and painting self-portraits, but hates his job working at the Krusty Krab.

Another close friend of SpongeBob is Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel from Texas. Sandy is a scientist and expert at karate. She lives in an underwater tree dome. When outside of her tree dome, she wears an astronaut-like suit because she cannot breathe underwater.

Mr. Krabs, a miserly crab obsessed with money, is the owner of the Krusty Krab restaurant and SpongeBob's boss.

His rival, Plankton, is a small green copepod who owns a low-rank fastfood restaurant called the Chum Bucket across the street from the Krusty Krab. Plankton spends most of his time planning to steal the recipe for Mr. Krabs's popular Krabby Patty burgers to obtain success and put the Krusty Krab out of business.

Other recurring characters appear alongside SpongeBob. These include SpongeBob's driving teacher Mrs. Puff, Mr. Krabs' daughter Pearl, Plankton's computer wife Karen, and SpongeBob and Patrick's favorite superheroes, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.

The citizens of Bikini Bottom live in mostly aquatic-themed buildings, and use "boatmobiles", an amalgamation of cars and boats, as a mode of transportation. Notable establishments present in Bikini Bottom includes the Krusty Krab and Mrs. Puff Boating School, which have become a common setting in the series since their first appearance in 1999.

Popularity In an interview with Barack Obama in 2007, he named SpongeBob as his favorite character. He added SpongeBob SquarePants was "the show I watch with my daughters.‖ British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has also said he watch the show with his children. In July 2009, the Madame Tussauds wax museum in New York launched a wax sculpture of SpongeBob in celebration of the series' tenth anniversary. SpongeBob is the first fictional character to be featured in Tussauds. In May 2011, a new species of mushroom, Spongiforma squarepantsii, was described. The mushroom was named after the series' title character. In 2013, a clip, featuring soldiers in Russia marched as they sing the SpongeBob theme, was posted on YouTube. According to English Russia, "One of the most popular marching songs in Russian army is SpongeBob Square Pants theme." The video of the soldiers singing the theme was posted online on February 14, 2013. The video garnered 50,000 hits in the first week.

Decline in rating During its peak years in early 2000, SpongeBob received enormous ratings and number of viewers. By 2012, it was reported that the show is receiving a decline in ratings. The average number of viewers aged 2 to 11 watching SpongeBob at any given time dropped 29% in the first quarter from a year earlier, according to Nielsen. The Wall Street Journal noted the ratings decline as "a wet blanket." The Journal points to a few possible problems: It could be too old, or it may be shown on TV too often. Another issue could be its licensing to Netflix, an ondemand Internet streaming media, last year. Ratings began droping soon after Netflix added a "just for kids" section.

Abusive B0llywood: Cool or Uncool Some people might find below article a bit offensive, so reader‘s discrimination is required. ―Beep…… beep……… beep‖ is the familiar sound now a days when you are watching the Bollywood movies on your television. You might be knowing that it is kept to hide the abusive language or word in the song or dialogue. Gone are the days when the formula for a hit movie had the heroine dancing in a chiffon sari in Switzerland. Gone are also the days when they‘d throw a random steamy item song and the audience would go crazy. Generation X is smart, way too smart and fancy backgrounds and item songs wont please this young generation. What it wants and seeks is reality. So now writers have come up with a new trend of inserting few cuss words here and there. Use of expletives and dialogues with dual meanings is the new trend. There were days when whole family can go and watch the movie in the theatre together, but now the scenario is little different. Family sees the movie but going alone with the friends. Every third movie now a days is coming out with A certificate. The use of double meaning language is common like salt in food items. Every movie contains the dialogues which has double meaning and you might hear the same dialogue for weeks from your friend too. The height is some of full movie script are based on double meaning and they do well then some good movies. Sometimes I wonder if abusive words are used in the script or script is added to list of abusive words? To what extent will the directors and producers of Bollywood movies go to make their movie a success? If they don‘t use the cuss words directly in their movie then they modify the word with same tone. In other words I‘ll say the product is same old, just decorated with good outer packing. The public which is targeted will understand the meaning of the word and gives clap and shouts on those things. It was once said that ― Movies are the mirrors of society‖. They show the real picture of current trend, but now I wonder about it. Is this our society? Is this our culture? Even if it is then instead of improving our level, why we showcase it to next generation? The impact of western culture is in every segment and we are following it so blindly. Entertainment sector too is heading its way on that only and using abusive language like anything to earn money. The major population in our country belongs to youth and the demand now a days is of abusive language.

Now the cuss words are not the monopoly of males, females wants equity in this too. They are using it as free language whenever they want wherever they want. They give the same old reason ―it was demand of script and thus I have to do it.‖ The demand of script make them strip, so its not a big deal for them. The number of heroine in this club are increasing day by day and this is becoming trend now. There is nothing wrong in abusing when its limited to you and your friends but doing it in front of whole crowd is something embarrassing to normal people. But in cinema world they can now do it open in front of whole nation and still they are icon and role model of many.

It is true that the movies now a days are showing what public really wanted to see, but this led to merging of B and C grade movies with the original movies. There were days when A certificates were give to rare movies, but now U grade movies are rare. Even the titles of the movies are creating hype now a days. For example movie name ―Kaminey‖ is abusive word used in Hindi. If movie name can be like that, what can be there in the script. There was a movie named ―No one killed Jessica‖ in which Rani Mukherjee was showed abusing to passenger in plane in front of small kid. She was playing role of journalist in that movie, now you can imagine the first thought in your brain when you see any journalist. This creates the bad impression about whole community and here where the real problem starts.

A still from No one killed jessica Writers may or may not show their creativity in the movie script, but they show their awesomeness in writing cuss words. They modify them so nicely just like cosmetic companies. There are lots of such examples of this, I would like to name few here. In movie ―Isquiya‖ Vidhya Balan used cuss word which become so popular a that time. It was abusive hybrid of chemistry and cuss word. In another movie ―Golmaal 3‖, the big hit movie of Rohit Shetty, actress Kareena kapooer used so many offensive words in her trademark cute way. She did same thing in movie ―Ra.one‖ and ―Jab we met‖ too. At last the thing is films are delivering because we want it. The day trend changes, the scenario will change for sure. So at this point of time abusive language in movies is cool or uncool depends on your thinking as even if I say its uncool you are going to see A rated movie for sure and going o enjoy it fully, so enjoy your thinking and think on it.

Inspirational Stories

District Collector U. Sagayam On a hot summer afternoon, on Madurai‘s busy main road, the district collector, U. Sagayam, saw a young man talking on a cellphone while riding a motorbike. He asked his driver to wave the man down, got down from his car and meted out instant punishment: plant 10 saplings within 24 hours. Somewhat unconventional justice, some might say. But that‘s how Sagayam works. ‗Lanjam Thavirtthu, Nenjam Namartthu‘ (Reject bribes, hold your head high), says a board hanging above Sagayam‘s chair in his modest office. That‘s the code he lives by, even if politicians are incensed they cannot bend him their way—he‘s been transferred 18 times in the last 20 years—and has made enemies of both superiors and subordinates. ―I know I sit under a dangerous slogan and probably alienate people,‖ he says. ―But I have been the same Sagayam from Day 1. Standing up against corruption is not for a season. Nor is it a fad. It‘s forever.‖ Two years ago, as district collector of Namakkal, he voluntarily declared his assets: a bank balance of Rs 7,172 and a house in Madurai worth Rs 9 lakh. Once, when his baby daughter, Yalini, who had breathing problems, was suddenly taken ill, he did not have the Rs 5,000 needed for admitting her to a private hospital. At that time he was deputy commissioner (excise) in Coimbatore and there were 650 liquor licences to be given out. The going bribe for each was rumoured to be Rs 10,000. Sagayam started cleaning up Madurai the minute he landed here. The main bus terminus at Mattuthavani looked more like a bazaar, with shops all over the bus -shelters and no waiting place for passengers. Even a police outpost had been turned into a shop. The system was well-oiled with haftas to local politicians and policemen. Sagayam quickly went through the rulebook, cited the relevant clauses and cleaned up the entire area. But didn‘t it hit poor shopkeepers who lost their livelihood? ―A violation is a violation,‖ says Sagayam, ―but we will help them rehabilitate.‖ Nageshwaran, a taxi-driver and one of Sagayam‘s many fans, says, ―He‘s strict and hasn‘t taken even ten paise in bribe during his career. He‘s like the upright collectors they show in some films, a real hero with integrity.‖

Sagayam‘s masters degrees in social work and law come in useful in his role as an administrator. He knows the rulebooks in detail and is not afraid of using them, however powerful the opponent. No wonder then that Sagayam‘s career is marked with the scars of countless battles. When he was in Kanchipuram as revenue officer, he took on the sand mafia, ordering them to stop dredging sand from the Palar riverbed. Large-scale dredging had made the area flood-prone. The mafia sent goons to assault Sagayam, but he did not budge and would not take back the order. He also took on a mighty soft-drink mnc when a consumer showed him a bottle with dirt floating in it. He sealed the bottling unit and banned the sale of the soft drink in the city. In Chennai, he locked horns with a restaurant chain and recovered four acres valued at some Rs 200 crore. Given such credentials, it wasn‘t surprising for him to be picked by the Election Commission to oversee elections in Madurai, as famous for its temples as its political gods. During the last polls, Sagayam took on M.K. Azhagiri, the local MP and son of former CM and DMK supremo M. Karunanidhi. He conducted voter awareness campaigns in colleges; the DMK petitioned the court twice, seeking to end what it said was an attempt to influence voters, but the court demurred. Sagayam‘s wife Vimala has stood by him all these years but she was rattled by some of the threats during the elections. ―He always says if you are right, nobody can hurt you,‖ she says. ―But sometimes it becomes difficult.‖ For more read: http://www.outlookindia.com/article.aspx?277990

Jadav Payeng

An Indian man has single-handedly grown a sprawling forest on a 1,360 acre (550-hectare) sandbar in the middle of the Brahmaputra. It now has many endangered animals, including at least five tigers, one of which bore two cubs recently. It all started way back in 1979 when floods washed a large number of snakes ashore on the sandbar. One day, after the waters had receded, Payeng , only 16 then, found the place dotted with the dead reptiles. That was the turning point of his life. In his words

"The snakes died in the heat, without any tree cover. I sat down and wept over their lifeless forms. It was carnage . I alerted the forest department and asked them if they could grow trees there. They said nothing would grow there. Instead, they asked me to try growing bamboo. It was painful, but I did it. There was nobody to help me. Nobody was interested.‖ For more: http://www.greatnewsnetwork.org/inde...rest_in_assam/
