KU Engineering provides an extensive support system to foster development for minority and female engineering students. Whether it’s scholarships, mentoring, tutoring, advising, networking, or moral support, the School of Engineering operates in an inclusive environment designed to help students succeed.
Diversity and Women’s Programs offers the right elements to help students put all the pieces of the Jayhawk puzzle together and succeed. That includes robust scholarship offerings that totaled more than $200,000 in diversity specific scholarship offerings in the 2015-2016 academic year. That’s in addition to the $2 million dollars in scholarships offered each year by the School of Engineering.

Engineering Diversity and Women’s Programs provide structure and guidance for students to get involved and grow their leadership skills. Students have the opportunity to organize projects, communicate the need for new programs, and implement activities that benefit minority engineering students.
Founded in 1971, KU’s Engineering Diversity and Women’s Program is one of the oldest such organizations in the country.
Evening with Industry provides students with an opportunity to interact with employers in a personal, relaxed setting. It’s held in conjunction each year with the Fall Engineering and Computing Career Fair. Organizers strive to connect students with employers representing the student’s career interests, potentially unlocking the door for that ideal internship or dream job after earning a degree.
