KANSAS YOUNG REPUBLICANS CONDEMNS KU PROFESSOR’S RHETORIC INCITING VIOLENCE TOPEKA, Kans. – The Kansas Young Republicans condemns Professor David Guth’s distasteful and incendiary remarks targeting the children of gun rights supporters. Rhetoric inciting violence and murder has no place in our civil discourse. We strongly urge the University of Kansas to not renew Mr. Guth’s employment contract and dismiss him from any further course instruction. As a professor in School of Journalism, Mr. Guth has a responsibility to conduct himself with integrity and set an example for aspiring journalists with his conduct and behavior. We find these recent actions to be completely incongruent with the mission and values professed and exemplified by the staff and students at the University of Kansas. ###
