The school kids were very impressed with their kits, which seemed to perfectly complement their black and white soccer boots, when I asked them for a photo to place in the paper; they asked me if they could do the ‘soccer star jump’ to show their joy... KAMPERSRUS - On Friday 21 January 2011, Southern Cross Schools held its annual Inter-house Athletics Meeting on the sports field of Laerskool Mariepskop. The day started out very wet and rainy, but this did not put off the enthusiastic children who were hungry for athletic competition. The two colour houses Griffon (yellow) and Falcon (blue) competed fiercely throughout the day. The winning honours eventually went to Griffon House whose athletes had accumulated the most points during the course of the day. The house captians of Griffon House, Precious Ratshana and Ralph Renald received the Inter-house Impala Trophy from Sports Organizer, Neil de Boer. The over-all best performing athletes were also rewarded with certificates. In the Prep School the Jnr. Victor Ludorum was Daniel Dixon, Jnr. Victrix Ludorum was Angella Trzeciak, Snr. Victor Ludorum was Kevin Braun and Snr. Victrix Ludorum was Bernadette Naude. In the College the Jnr. Victor Ludorum was Naeem Razak, Jnr. Victrix Ludorum was Demi Prince, Snr. Drakies Drakie Gr 1s uitgevat! blink in reën HOEDSPRUIT - Die dag lyk nie belowend nie. Daar is dreigende wolke en terwyl die laaste toerusting uitgepak word, begin dit te reën. Drakies rond die dag met die volgende toppresteerders af: Junior Victrix was Anastatia Letebele en die Junior Victor was Kabelo Ramfalo. Ngwanatlai Matlou word as Senior Victrix aangewys en Dannie Makhoabane as Senior Victor. Keziah Afrika word erken as Beste veldatleet. Dannie Makhoabane skop stof (of modder) in sy teenstanders se oë wanneer hy as Beste Baanatleet aangewys word.

’n Ieder en elke Gr 1 Drakie het by die huissportdag met hulle nuwe Drakies t-hemde opgedaag en te pragtig gelyk.
