FUTURE PHYSICIANS

In this camp, we will explore multiple body systems using interactive and kinesthetic laboratory examinations. Campers will investigate how the human body obtains the nutrients required for survival, which will provide an exploration of the skeletal, muscular and nervous systems. At the end of the week, we will use scissors to complete dissections of specimens so campers can see the relationship between body systems.

Calling all doll lovers! Campers are invited to bring their special 18-inch friends to this camp where they will create an entire world for their dolls. Activities include decking out doll houses, designing fun furniture and crafting cool clothes. Each day has a theme such as 60始s fun on Julie始s Groovy Day and Samantha始s Victorian-era Tea Party Day. This camp promises to be one for the history books!

Learn, build and play with LEGO bricks. This camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education. Campers will enhance self-esteem through problem solving and completing projects, improve fine and gross-motor skills through manipulation of small components and improve social/emotional skills through patience, teamwork and communication. All campers will leave with a completed project at the end of camp.

LEGO ROBOTICS

Learn to design, build and program awe-inspiring robots using LEGOs most advanced and newest robotics technology. Campers will work as a team to complete projects and games designed for the robots. If you have a future doctor in the house, this is the camp for your little physician! Campers will explore the systems of the human body with sample projects that may include building a lung model, testing for germs, assembling a spinal column, experiments in anatomy and physiology, and skin prints. As a bonus, campers will receive their own stethoscope and percussion hammer. Itʼs going “tibia” great week!

ROBOTICS 1

Robotics camp is designed to enrich the studentsʼ creativity, problem-solving ability and critical thinking skills as they explore the fields of computer science, programming and engineering. Who wants to be a millionaire? We all do, right? With an early start, a solid understanding of compound interest and realistic expectations, your camper can truly get there. Campers will learn the basics of personal finance, with an emphasis on saving and investing. We will begin to investigate the stock market and basic stock valuation ratios.

SUPERHERO ADVENTURE

Do you have a superhero in the making? Join us as we learn what it means to be a hero! Campers will design their own superhero logos, make costumes, draw comics, and play superhero games. Jump into the comic books and learn about all the different characters and their similarities!

MAD SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS

Campers will develop critical thinking skills, lab skills and scientific skills to conduct fun and educational science experiments. Sample projects include exploring various materials for making slime, making chemical concoctions, growing crystals, creating a catapult and much more!

This unique camp will offer an incredible collection of projects and experiments that will amuse and amaze your little scientist! By being involved with several hands-on activities, your child will explore the basic scientific ideas that play a role in everyday life. Sample projects may include marshmallow catapults, vinegar volcanoes, gravity free water, and how to tell if an egg is raw or boiled from the outside! In addition, campers will create projects to take home!

SPORTS MEDICINE ATHLETIC TRAINERS

Learn what it takes to be an athletic trainer in this one-of-a-kind camp for rising 5th-8th graders! Campers will receive a comprehensive overview into many aspects of athletic training. In addition to learning basic anatomy, campers will receive one-on-one instruction in the latest taping techniques, injury evaluation, hydration, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency management. Campers will leave at the end of the week with their CPR certifications, AED certification, and how to relieve choking. If youʼre interested in becoming a student athletic trainer, this is the camp for you!

TOP SECRET MISSION

This mission should you choose to accept it will have you breaking secret codes, solving puzzles and mysteries, and trying to escape our room this summer. Learn some secret spy skills, work on problem solving and tackle brain-busting problems head-on. We will use our spy skills on the last day of camp to solve a group mystery to escape our room.

Join us as we travel around the world on the BL campus! Campers will nurture their love for exploration and create a sense of respect for other ways of life in this fun camp. 3D ART: BECOME A SCULPTOR

In the 3D art studio, campers are led through a variety of projects using a wide range of materials and techniques to explore traditional genres of 3D art and design. Campers will learn to employ the principles of design in their hand-made creations. By gaining practical experience using a variety of tools and techniques, campers will leave camp with a series of projects to be proud of!

AMAZING ART

Amazing Art camp is perfect for students at any skill level with an interest in learning art techniques and better problem-solving skills while experiencing the joy found through creative exploration. Learn doodle techniques in this hands-on summer camp! Youʼll explore doodle designs, zentangles, and more. After perfecting our doodles, weʼll create a collaborate doodle coloring book to share!

DIGITAL ART: FUN WITH PHOTOSHOP

Campers will be guided step-by-step through a series of digital art projects and exercises designed to introduce them to the basic tools and concepts behind Adobe Photoshop. They will learn the design process, color theory, typography, and composition. By the end of camp, students will have the opportunity to print their designs and develop a final project piece that allows them to focus on their own individual interests.

GEOMETRIC DESIGN

This camp will explore the art behind mathematics, specifically geometry. We will look at and make tessellations, write and illustrate tangram stories, dilate your favorite characters, and create string art. Campers will leave every day with a glimpse of the geometry behind the beautiful projects they create.

HAND LETTERING

Ever find yourself doodling away or writing your name out hundreds of times? If so, then this is the camp for you! Brush lettering (also known as hand lettering) is a fun and playful skill that you can do for years to come. Campers will start with form and foundational strokes, then buildtheir way up to a final project that can be taken home and shown off to friends and family!

Stars, Stripes and Summer! Get ready to create wreaths, banners, stars, and more in this session as we prepare for this summerʼs Fourth of July!

The Friar Baseball camp staff is dedicated to teaching all aspects of the game including skill development, game strategy, competition, and mechanics. During the week, campers will receive instructions on throwing, hitting, base running, agility, and speed training.

SEWING CAMP

Ever wanted to sew a dollʼs pillow, a small stuffed animal, or just know how to sew a button back on a shirt? Your camper will learn basic hand stitches that (s)he will use to create those. Each camper will go home with a stitch library and several hand-sewn items!

WOODWORKING & CERAMICS

Each camper will gain basic woodworking skills starting with simple projects using hand tools and gaining an appreciation for wood as a creative medium. The woodworking projects will also incorporate ceramics and campers will have the opportunity to create a number of different vessels that are made out of both wood and clay. Campers will take home their finished projects at the end of the camp.

YOUTH AMAZING ART

With Youth Amazing Art, each day of the camp brings a new project! Activities include drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture. Under expert guidance, campers will have the chance to explore a wide range of art materials and techniques, with an emphasis on exploration and self-expression. Lessons will also include some introductory level art history and appreciation. At the end of the camp, each student will take home fond memories and a portfolio of artwork.

The Friar Basketball camp will provide individual and group instruction by BL coaches and former players. Campers can expect emphasis on the rules of the game while also participating in daily competitions, relays, full-court games, and other skill-developing activities.

Under the leadership of Coach Andy Zihlman, the Lady Friar Basketball camp will incorporate skill-building sessions, competitions, team-building activities, and one-on-one instruction from well-trained, experienced coaches and collegiate players. In keeping with the Lady Friarsʼ winning tradition, each of the camp components will be aimed at strengthening player skills while building confidence, mental toughness and a love for the game!


CHEER/DANCE

Join our Bishop Lynch cheer and dance programs for this fun-filled camp! Campers will experience fundamental movements, flexibility, balance, coordination, and positive self-esteem. Each camper will learn two to four short dances, four chants and several basic cheer motions. Through small group and age-appropriate training, campers will gain self-confidence and a greater appreciation of cheer and dance.

FOOTBALL

WEEK(S): 1 // TIME: 9:00AM-11:30AM // GRADES: 1-8 // $130 // INSTRUCTOR: CHUCK FAUCETTE The football coaching staff and team will lead campers in drills and practices simulating those of the Friar Football team. In addition to learning football skills and having fun, campers will be exposed to other aspects of life such as teamwork, self-discipline and goal setting. The Friar Football camp promises to be a positive experience regardless of ability - beginner or advanced.

FRIAR GAMES

FRIAR WATER GAMES

Campers will love this active outdoor camp where the main component is water. Traditional games get a super fun twist when thereʼs water to slide in, squirt, splash, soak, and spray!

LACROSSE (BOYS AND GIRLS)

Come play lacrosse with the Friars! Lacrosse camp is a great introduction to this fast-paced, high-scoring sport. Small groups of similarly-aged campers will be instructed in the fundamentals of the game, including passing, catching, dodging, and scoring. Players will leave the camp with a solid foundation and the necessary tools to be a more consistent and effective performer at any level.

PILATES AND YOGA FOR KIDS

Enjoy movement on a mat! Your camper will learn the fundamentals of Pilates and how to correctly execute the stretching and strengthening moves. Pilates helps to improve core-strength, posture, and flexibility! Each camper will need a Pilates mat or Yoga mat and comfortable athletic clothing.

The Bishop Lynch Soccer camp will provide each athlete the opportunity to develop technical and tactical skills through individual instruction, group instruction and game experience. Participants will receive guidance from the Bishop Lynch coaching staff on agility training and tactical strategies including 4v4 to 11v11 sessions.

SOCCER (GIRLS)

At this age appropriate soccer camp, players will be given the most advanced youth soccer curriculum featuring innovative games and techniques to teach and develop players in all facets of the game. This camp will also provide individual drills that each player can use in their backyard or at the park. Coach Hedges, his staff and his players look forward to helping each player further develop their love for the great game.


SOFTBALL

The Lady Friar Softball camp is directed by the BL coaching staff as well as current and former players. The camp is dedicated to teaching all aspects of the game including skill development, game strategy, competition, and mechanics. Campers will be divided up by age and ability and given personal instruction throughout the week.

SPORTS PERFORMANCE

Learn performance tools you need to become a better athlete! Campers will learn proper running mechanics, plyometrics designed to enhance explosiveness and injury prevention. Resistance strength training exercises will be taught based on age, size and ability. Body weight resistance will be used for the younger athletes and techniques will be taught to enhance ankle, hip and shoulder flexibility for the older athletes. *No lunch break during this camp. Please bring a snack.*

TENNIS (BOYS AND GIRLS)

The Friar Tennis camp will cover all the basic shots in tennis while using smaller nets and sponge-like balls for kids ages 5-10. Campers will learn to hold their racquets properly and how to control the ball by developing hand-eye coordination and court awareness. This week is designed to introduce kids to tennis in a fun environment where they can grow in skill and develop a love for the game. All camp games and drills conducted inside the gymnasium.

The Lady Friar Volleyball camp provides an opportunity for athletes to significantly improve their volleyball skills. Coaches will help players perfect their technique and overall game through specific instruction, drills and games. Players will leave the camp with a solid foundation and the necessary tools to be a more consistent and effective performer at any level.

WRESTLING

During this camp, the basic fundamentals to advanced-level match strategies will be taught and reviewed with an emphasis on skill development. Campers will experience wrestling fundamentals, wrestling-centered games, agility, balance, and coordination to help them at any level of competition.

YOGA

At Yoga camp, campers will explore all of the benefits that yoga has to offer – both mentally and physically. Campers will discover peace, gratitude, confidence, and healthy living! Our certified yoga instructor will meet the campers at their appropriate levels and activity backgrounds. Be sure your child dresses in comfortable clothing to allow for movement. If your child already has a yoga mat, they can bring it to camp. Yoga mats will be available for camper use as well!
