TRAIN ’EM UP!

As a vertical construction company, the 212th is equipped with soldiers trained as 12W (carpentry/ masonry), 12R (electricians), and 12K (plumbers), and many of the jobs we’ve gotten have allowed our leaders to train and cross train our soldiers to better do their jobs. Sharing skills allows our plumbers and electricians to learn basic carpentry, and vice versa adding manpower to our worksites. In addition to teaching our younger soldiers, our NCOs gain experience and new skills and knowledge as they conduct the research, plan, and prepare their visual aides and training tools.

WITH OVER 140 SOLDIERS HERE WITH THE 212TH, AND MANY WANTING TO TAKE PART IN ORGANIZED SPORTS TEAMS, THE 212TH HAS ADDED ANOTHER SOFTBALL TEAM, THE TENNESEE SHINERS. ON WENDESDAY EVENINGS YOU CAN FIND THE HITMEN AND THE SHINERS PLAYING OUT AT THE ZONE 6 FIELD.

CELEBRATING THE 4TH

BEING AWAY FROM HOME DEFINITELY ISN’T EASY, AND BEING AWAY FROM HOME ON HOLIDAYS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WE’RE ALL USED TO SPENDING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS IS HARDER. SO AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF HARD WORK, WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A FEW DAYS OFF TO SPEND TOGETHER PLAYING TEAMS SPORTS COMPETING ON BATTALION TEAMS, THEN AGAIN ON COMPANY TEAMS, GRILLING OUT TOGETHER, ENJOYING CONCERTS AND A MINICARNIVAL WITH GAMES AND PRIZES AND MOST OF ALL TRYING TO RELAX, LAUGH, AND SPEND TIME TOGETHER LIKE WOULD DO IF WE WERE BACK HOME.
