REBECCA & DAN PLAINFIELD, IL
Becky knew the image of a vintage dress she found online was “the one as soon as she saw it. Using the photo as my only reference, I was able to re-create this vintage look in ivory silk and pale pink silk dupioni, in addition to a tie for the groom made out of the same pink silk.
TARA & MIKE GATLINBURG, TN A plain white dress was out of the question for Tara, a bride that wanted to incorporate red into her wedding day but wasn’t sure of exactly what she wanted. After a few sketches we decided on this a-line dress with a beaded lace bodice, keyhole back, and pleated draping across the midsection. The real show-stopper is the inset of red ruffles, which was created with 4 different types of red fabrics punctuated with crystal and pearl trim.
JESSICA & DAN CHICAGO, IL An architect by trade, Jessica wanted a dress that reflected her personal ascetic and love of geometric shapes, but she also wanted to avoid anything that looked too “bridal”. A plunging back and leg slit were also on the bride’s “must-have” list. We collaborated on a design built around the art deco-inspired gold and ivory lace we found on a lucky fabric shopping trip, incorporating gold sequins and metallic gauze that looked stunning at their reception held in the grand staircase of the Art Institute of Chicago.
