Below the Surface is a non-profit research and exploration organization dedicated to discovering solutions to water waste and pollution. Riverview was inspired by Google’s Streetview, and is creating a virtual platform to interact with, visualize, and explore rivers throughout the world.


Conservation 2.0

Below the Surface is creating 360° panoramic maps of the world’s streams, rivers and coastline with a 360° panoramic video camera, and a mobile app for iPhone and Android. Riverview will make our waterways as familiar as our neighborhoods all with the ease of access we enjoy from Google’s Streetview. Riverview is designed to create the leading visual platform to establish baselines and aggregate data on hydrologic structure, function, and changes while illustrating how waterway recreation can lead to better protection of America’s waterways and other natural resources.
