CURB APPEAL, HOW’S YOURS?
Take a look at the curb just outside your home, is yours clean, pleasing to look at? Or is it cracked and missing a piece or two? Also, look at the curbs in your immediate neighborhood. Look around and see if we need to get those We all appreciate seeing a clean appearance to Cinco Ranch, especially down at the curbs. With the combination of age and weather, our streets and
New Patients Welcome Children’s Play Area
2011 drought, we need to look down to make sure our curbs look as good as the day we moved into our home. In our monthly newsletter, The Cinco Spirit, there is a standing section titled “Who Do I Call. Within that section there is a broken curb phone number. The number for Fort Bend County is 800-690-7623 and for Harris County the number is 281-463-8703. Take note that the Association maintains the gated communities, but the Counties maintain the curbs on the streets and cul de sac areas. There is a website for Fort Bend County that you report these matters as well: https://www.co.fort-bend.tx.us/roadmaintenanceform.asp. Remember, the curbs do a lot more for our appearance than just move water down the street. Take 10 minutes to note the intersection or home location that might need a curb repair, then call the County to have this put on the list

While it is understood that during certain events, vehicles parking on the street is an unavoidable circumstance, please be aware of clearance needed not line both sides of the street. Be a courteous neighbor by communicating you are having a gathering at your home and may need additional parking. Ask if they would mind guests parking in front of their homes to help eliminate the congestion on the street. To assist the Emergency Services in their endeavors and help eliminate road congestion, we ask that Residents refrain from parking in the street. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Cinco Ranch Residents pay a maintenance fee where a large portion includes the electricity to light our streets. Each streetlight costs the Cinco Ranch Associations approximately $30 dollars a month. This fee is billed to us whether the light is working or not. If you see a light(s) burned out, please help us by getting the number on the pole. A wise woman once had a dream to change the lives of women for the better. Her hope was so contagious that, one person at a time, her dream spread around the world. Today, nearly 50 years later, millions have been touched by the legacy that Mary Kay Ash left. I’m proud to share in her commitment of caring and connecting in communities just like ours - to help make a difference.

If you are going on vacation, a business trip or just going away for the weekend, please put your house on a vacation watch list. It only takes a few minutes to inform local police that you are away from home.
Take measures to secure your home and cars. Let your neighbors know that you will be away and when you plan to return. Inform neighbors and law enforcement if you plan on having maintenance services stop by while you are on vacation. It is advised that you have newspapers stopped, mail held and any advertisement left on your property picked up by someone. Keeping lawn mowed for a normal appearance to the property will look as if there is active occupancy. Taking preventative steps may deter vandals or thieves from entering your home.

Two phone numbers suggested you save in your cell phone are the nonemergency Harris County Precinct 5 Constables and Fort Bend County sheriff’s numbers. 911 should always be used in case of an emergency, but many times we need to contact the sheriff’s department and need to do so quickly. don’t hesitate to call the sheriff’s department if something in your neighborhood seems questionable. This will give our contract deputies probable cause to investigate. This would include suspicious vehicles (vehicles exhibiting unsafe or erratic driving behavior), suspicious persons or behavior, activity at you neighbors home when you know they are on vacation and anything else that may be out of the ordinary in your neighborhood. don’t take a chance on you or your family’s safety.
