AN ART VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY AT HOUSTON APHASIA RECOVERY CENTER
Stephanie Schmadeke, Director of the Houston Aphasia Recovery Center (HARC), a not for profit facility which helps people recover from brain injury, is looking for volunteers to teach painting or drawing lessons to their clients. Their location is 6260 Westpark (in the West Loop/SW Freeway area). This would be perfect for someone who has time and a calling to help people or for students who are looking for community service and teaching experience. Even if you are new to art, you would have something to offer. Just give them what you know. That will be more than enough. (Paint mixing, pallets, brush choices, hand positions, perspective, shading, blending, etc.) All would be a great help to someone recovering from Aphasia.
