ADULT SUMMER READING CLUB, “SUMMER ESCAPE @ YOUR LIBRARY” Adults of all ages, including young adults in high school, may participate by reading or listening to books. Readers may register at any Fort Bend County library or they may register online by going to the FBCL website. Once the online registration form has been completed, readers will then have their own online page on which to record their books or hours. Weekly drawings for an FBCL travel tumbler will take place at each branch throughout the summer for readers who log in and record their reading activity each week. The first weekly prizes were awarded on June 10th. Participants who complete the program - by reading four books or by listening to audiobooks for 10 hours of time - will receive an FBCL magnet. Prizes must be collected from the “home” library that the reader indicated on the registration form. A grand-prize drawing for a $25 gift card to an area bookstore - donated by the Friends of the Library - will take place on July 29th for participants who have successfully completed the program. There is no charge to join the Adult Summer Reading Club and it is open to all adults, regardless of the county of residence. The program is sponsored by Fort Bend County Libraries and the Friends organizations that support the county library system.

ON DISPLAY • “INDEPENDENCE DAY: THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE” - The exhibit includes various items pertaining to the signers of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, including prints of newspaper clippings, pictures of the founding fathers, flags, patriotic banners, books and much more.
