Inspiring problem-solvers and lifelong learners through character, collaboration, and creativity.
MESSAGE FROM THE
PRINCIPAL Anthem Rocket Community, Happy 2020! As we welcome in the new year we are excited to unveil some new and exciting things at Anthem School! In order to take STEAM education to the next level, we are having a grand opening of our Maker Space!
What is a Maker Space?
Maker Space is coming! The Anthem STEAM committee has been hard at work developing and building a state of the art MakerSpace for our students. Our MakerSpace is comprised of no, low and high tech materials to engage, inspire, and capture students creative and problem solving skills. Mrs. Deb Roets Our MakerSpace includes a 3D printer, iPads, Spheros, legos, a massive lego wall, logic games and various building blocks & shapes. Students will be engaged in problem based learning activities, creating and designing following the Engineering Process.
How can I check it out?
We will be having Cory from Fox 10 news here on January 23. He is going to spotlight the MakerSpace with our innovative students showing off what they can do. We will also be highlighting our MakerSpace at our annual STEAM night on January 29. Make sure to come check it out!
If you have a student entering Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, please register them now. We are having a Kindergarten Open House on January 30 from 5:30-7:00. If you haven’t registered your child for kindergarten you will be able to do so at the event. There will be activities for the children, refreshments, and staff to answer any questions you may have. Spread the word! Sincerely,
Deb Roets Tina Craig Principal Assistant Principal Anthem School Anthem School If you know someone interested in attending Anthem school, please encourage them to contact the front office at 623-376-3700 for more information and to schedule a tour.

The cross country kids have stamina like no other team. Numerous days the team practiced and raced in temperatures that exceeded 112 degrees through blood, sweat and tears. Don’t feel too bad though, because they cooled off with Otter-pops after a good practice. Cross Country wrapped up last week with 2 runners earning medals and many others earning ribbons for placements. Every runner exceeded their personal best time by a minute or more! Ben Nichols and Kyra Akers were excellent role models and captains for the team. They were responsible when filling up the water cooler before each practice and meet. Ben and Kyra ran a mile and a half at each meet and were always at the top of the pack winning many medals and ribbons. There was a huge 5/6th grade group this year. Amoree Eiden placed 18th out of 100 runners at our Championship race, finishing 1.2 miles in 8 minutes 39 seconds. I would also like to give a shout out to Ronin Gibb and Brylie Fayen. This was their first time joining cross country and they persevered through the heat, the pains and the distance of the sport to successfully finish the season strong. Thanks for a great season!

Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful winter vacation and many happy holidays with family and friends. As we get into the groove of school again, we would like to thank our six dedicated parents/grandparents as well as staff and school organizations who hosted a trunk for our Trunk or Treat Event in October. We had a bunch of trick or treaters and we are hoping to grow the number of trunks next year! The event wouldn’t have been possible without you! Shout out to Barros, Chilis, and In & Out for volunteering to host all of our dine-in fundraisers! Thank you to all the families that participate in these dine-in events, not only to help our school but to enjoy a simple meal together- prep free!! With these funds PTSA is able to supply teachers with classroom items requested, cover licensing fees for school events, renew clean water filters, and provide dinner to staff on their late conferencing night! You may have seen the Anthem PTSA, STUCO, NJHS, NEHS and Spirit line walk in the Veterans Day Parade in November. Thank you to all those that have or are serving our country. We appreciate you!
