2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro 1 lb pork tenderloin, trimmed, cut into 1-inch cubes ½ DOLE pineapple (peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch cubes) 1 DOLE red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces 1 (8-ounce) bag DOLE Spinach and Red Leaf Blend 1 lime, cut into wedges for serving

Combine the marinade, garlic, and cilantro. Alternately thread pork, pineapple, and peppers on skewers. Brush both sides with marinade. Grill or broil the kebabs, turning occasionally and continuing to baste, until lightly charred and just cooked through, about 12-15 minutes. Place salad blend in a large bowl; add the dressing and gently toss to coat. Arrange salad on plates and top with kebabs. Serve with lime wedges.

City Profile of Fort Lauderdale The famous beach of Fort Lauderdale has officially been taken over by the Dig the Beach Series. This has been known to be one of the largest stops in the series history. Athletes from all over the world travel to the white beach of Fort Lauderdale in hopes of taking the large cash purses the Dig the Beach puts up for the athletes. Thousands of dollars are awarded to the best of the beach. Whether you like to relax on the sands while grilling out, or strolling alongside the beach and restaurants, there is always something to do. Even take a fishing trip after the finals match. Fort Lauderdale has it all. Make your next visit to the series in Fort Lauderdale, and you will not be disappointed.

Capri Hilgendorf Capri has been playing beach volleyball almost all of her life. As the representative of Fort Lauderdale she has dominated the Dig The Beach Series for several years. Tied for first in 2009 of the DTB series Capri has always been all smiles with her life perspective of “How’d I get so lucky?” With her smart court sense and unstoppable defense Capri has always been feared by her opponent. Every season she improves her ball control and tough mentality of winning every point. Capri just competed in the AVP of Fort Lauderdale finishing 17th! Recently becoming engaged to Steve Grotowski, life has never been better for the DTB star. Look for this athlete in tournaments to come because she is making noise in 2010!

Mike DiPierro Mike DiPierro is becoming a househeld name in the volleyball world. Recently finishing seventh in the Santa Barbara AVP with teammate Steve Grotowski, DiPierro is making big moves in his volleyball career. This Fort Lauderdale resident trains relentlessly in hopes for the top ten seed of the main draw in the AVP. He has always been a tough competitor to his opponents. Dig the Beach is proud to have athletes

of his caliber bring their best to the beaches every event. DiPierro was tied for 5th last season of DTB. Happily married with his beautiful wife by his side DiPierro looks to the future. Mike DiPierro is a player that will impress you with his knowledge of the game and his focus to push through the challenging matches to bring home the money.

City profile of Siesta Key This tour stop is on the sleepy beach of Siesta Key. With nothing but crystal beaches to put your feet in and take a load off Sarasota has it all. The slow pace of the beach is disrupted by the roaring waves of volleyball players that stir up the sands and invigorate the town. Come to Sarasota for a memorable vacation from the everyday strain of life. The juniors series begins at this stop and you will be able to watch the future of beach volleyball show off their skills while improving their knowledge of the sport. TV crews will be onsite while the tournament is going on, so make sure you are camera ready because you never know when you will be next!

Megan Wallin This Michigan State University alum has been hitting the charts of the DTB tour and many others. She was in sixth place on the tour last year. Ranked 50th in the country her dominating presence on the court creates a huge block, sprawling defense, and detrimental offense. At 6’3’’ Megan brings a lot to the beach and also is constantly trying to improve her game. Keep your eyes open for this pro because you never know what impressive skills will be exerted at any moment. Finishing high in all of our events, Megan is one of the top athletes in the series.

Fort Myers June 5-6 Fort Myers

Brooke Sweat This player will “WOW” you all tournament long with her destructive defense and aggressive spikes. She will pursue every ball and leave her competition baffled at how easy she makes the game look. Brooke was tied for tenth last year with Dig The Beach. Now, in 2010, Brooke is the champion of the Fort Lauderdale tournament with partner Kristen Batt. Recently finishing seventh at the AVP Santa Barbara, Brooke is paving the way for Florida women beach volleyball players. On and off the court she is a player you will want to have represent the sport. One of her favorite quotes “Impossible is nothing,” conveys how she views every match she faces. Brooke is now ranked 42nd in the nation. Every tournament Brooke places higher than the one before. This player will never allow a ball to hit her court and she will never take defeat as an option. Keep a look out for this highlight player to impress you till the tournament in over.

Nick Sweat This firecracker volleyball player is always livening up the beaches of Fort Myers. His explosive energy and love for the game is what brings the excitement to his game. Married now for almost three years to Brooke Sweat, Nick always is there to support his wife. This devoted husband helps Brooke train and gives her encouragement whenever he can. Nick is the glue to the Dig the Beach series with his positive outlook and expertise. He is always expected to bring a well rounded environment to the game and the day. Search for this athlete on the court with the yelling and excitement this year in 2010.

Clearwater June 26-27 Clearwater Beach

City Profile of clearwater Ranked number one for city beaches in the Gulf of Mexico, Clearwater is the beach that doesn’t sleep. This wide, broad, sandy shores and clear blue waters allow for stunning views. This has been one of the largest stops on the series. With a variety of teams and plenty of top competition, be sure to bring your best foot forward.

Shayna Munson A college graduate from Eastern Michigan University, Shayna now travels the country in hopes to knock out the best of the best to show them what this eagle has got. She towers over the competition with her wide wing span and fast thinking. Shayna is notorious for challenging her opponents weaknesses and leaves them guessing how they can beat a tremendous volleyball player. Placing eighth overall last year in Dig the Beach, this year she aspires to be number one. Finishing third in the AVP Young Guns of Fort Lauderdale she has put her money where her mouth is. Shayna is a player that consistently brings her A game to the playing field. Find where this player is on tournament day because she will dominate the sand this year on the Dig the Beach Series of 2010.

Joey Cash Joey Cash is a lefty out of Clearwater Beach, Florida who is a staggering 6’5” with crushing power. Ranked 104th in the United States Cash’s athleticism is unmatched on the Dig the Beach Series. He is an up and coming player on the series already winning a tournament in Clearwater during 2010. A graduate from Flagler, Joey brings the intelligence of the indoor game to the beach. Always a great player to observe. Young players can learn a lot from watching the smart arm swings and shots Joey brings to the table. Joey will make it far this year and will make others shake in their boardshorts with his heavy arm and smart plays.
