Welcome, to the 33rd edition of Milne’s Gelbvieh Bull sale. Things are definetly happening in the beef business. In all honesty it is hard for me to comprehend the current market, but then I consider how our input costs have gone up and I realize these prices are deserved and appreciated.
As we strive to expand the Canadian herd it becomes increasingly important to source the genetics that will add to your bottom line. At Milne’s Gelbvieh we strive do just that by paying attention to convenience traits like: calving ease, live calves pay bills, fertility, pregnant cows reduce the cull rate, sound feet and udders, lessen lameness and insure colostrum consumption. All of the factors I just mentioned keep cows in the herd and reduce your replacement needs and the cost that comes with them. These bulls have been developed slowly to give you multiple trouble free breeding seasons. Their first winter they are kept on a backgrounding ration, then sent to grass to grown up. Their second winter they are brought up to a healthy breeding weight on 16%% Right Way pellets from Country Junction feeds. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call:
Harold 780-835-0365 or Bev 780-834-7704.
We invite you to GO GELBVIEH and take advantage of the MOTHER BREED.
We will be using a private treaty/auction style format. March 19, 2025 will be the opening day of our sale. None of the bulls listed will have been sold prior to that date. However, for your convenience you are invited to evaluate the bulls at any time and make your intention to purchase known by placing your name on a board at the sale barn. You may express interest in more than one bull and leave us a preference order. On March 19 at 1:00 pm any bull with more that one interested party will be bid on by those parties until a winning bidder is decided. The bidding will begin at an increment above the cataloged price. To allow for buyers to make additional or alternate selections there will be a short pause between the sale of each bull. Once there are no longer bulls with more than one name beside them they will be sold to that party at the cataloged price. Any bulls not selected on March 19 will remain for sale at the cataloged price on a first come first serve basis.
The bulls may be viewed at the ranch before the sale, please call Harold at 780-835-0365 to confirm a viewing time. All bulls will have a satisfactory semen test conducted by licenced Veterinarian before sale.
Terms of sale are cash or cheque, payable sale day unless other arrangements have been made with the seller before the sale. Once satisfactory settlement has been made the animals will be transferred.
Everyone who views the bulls or attends the sale does so at their own risk and the owners assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for property or any accidents that may occur.
We are once again ofering a discount for bulls that are picked up in the 24 hrs following the sale of $100.00 of the selling price. All bulls have been inspected by a Veterinarian at semen testing time, they are insurable with most any livestock insurance agent. Bulls left with us until pick-up are solely at the risk of the buyer.
