Many people start jogging because they want to lose weight. Sure, there are the other great benefits like cardiovascular fitness and strong muscles. People jog and exercise because they want to lose weight or maintain their current weight. I'm going to share with you the one key ingredient that you need to lose weight jogging. Simply put, weight loss occurs when the amount of calories you burn per day exceeds the amount of calories take in. If you truly want to lose weight, then you should either stop eating or increase the amount of calories that you burn. Most people turn to jogging as a means of increasing the amount of calories they burn per day. However, if you eat junk all day, you will need to exercise a couple of hours for weight loss to start happening. That would be great in a fantasy world. In reality, most people do not have that kind of time to dedicate to any type of fitness activity. When you think about balancing your family, work and everything else in life, it is amazing that you are able to get in the 30-60 minutes of exercise per day that you currently do. Can you imagine trying to add another hour and a half to your routine? A more realistic approach is to cut down or change what you eat. Changing the amount of calories that you burn can be time consuming, but changing the calories you take in can be done much easier. If eat a bucket of fried chicken everyday and then jog for 30 minutes you won't get the results you are looking for. Give this some thought. Why kill yourself with excessive exercise when you don't have to? On the other hand I'm not encouraging you to starve yourself either. Take an honest look at the things you are eating and start making some adjustments.
