Aspire Design Brief Overview

The Aspire strategy is an academic success program to help first time students. They have 6 workshops that pinpoint specific goals to help students succeed and need a flyer, poster, and web banner for each.

Challenge

What is our challenge?

The challenge is getting people to read, understand, and attend the workshops.

Goal

What is our goal?

Our goal is to create something that visually attracts the specific audience with the intention of them attending the workshop and get something out of it.

Audience

Who is the core audience?

The core audience should be first semester students.

Perception

What is the audience’s perception of the topic? Hopefully they share the same perception as we do and that is these incredible workshops will help them adjust easier and succeed.

Requirements

The following have to be included in each: Aspire logo with the grant funding info, MWCC logo with mwcc.edu, and “AA/EEO Institution” per marketing. They also would like us to try and implement the Aspire logo colors.

Message

What would you like the core audience to Think or Feel? We would like the students to feel that by attending these workshops they WILL succeed.

What message needs to be communicated? Our message needs to be conveyed strongly, that Aspire is here to fill in the missing pieces to help the students succeed.

Response

What kind of response is desired from the core audience? The desired response is to have the attendees feel excited, relieved, and not alone!

What do you want the audience to do? We would like them to take these extremely helpful skills and apply them successfully to what they are here for... A better future!

Style

The client gave us creative freedom with some exceptions. They felt that using specific male or female images would only attract that gender to the workshops. They also wanted the Aspire logo colors fused in the design. And provide high quality graphics.

Deliverable

These flyer’s, posters and web banners need to be completed A.S.A.P. That way the mock ups can be reviewed for any final changes and the workshops are right around the corner. The client needs PDF’s of each and the InDesign files need to be packaged.

Do you have all the pieces for success?

Inspiration by Aspire The Aspire strategy is an academic success program to help first time students. They have 6 workshops that pinpoint specific goals to help students succeed. ASPIRE Strategy stands for: Academic Success Program to Increase Retention and Engagement. After attending one the workshops, I was amazed by their techniques to help you think outside the “box.” The presenter Craig Elkens, also interacted with the students as if one of them. It wasn’t the typical uptight workshop, inspiring me to attend more.

Having the opportunity to contribute my designs to this program, were priceless. The experience and knowledge I absorbed through this process, has made me a better designer. The chaotic environment and pressure gave that real work experience, forcing me to get better and keep my work competitive with the other designs. By Jeffrey Donovan
