Colours never seen before – Konica Minolta’s new bizhub PRESS C70hc Langenhagen, Germany, April 2011 When it comes to true colour reproduction, perceptions may vary. Superior toner nonetheless really does make a difference in print results. Konica Minolta’s HC (High Chroma) toner, used by the new bizhub PRESS C70hc, comes much closer to standard RGB (sRGB) than conventional toner. Graphic arts companies, commercial printers as well as advertising agencies and creative professionals will appreciate the large sRGB coverage area along with the facilitated sRGB colour workflow. The bizhub PRESS C70hc is now entering sales channels across Europe. “The new bizhub PRESS C70hc’s range of capabilities makes it the perfect solution for value-added printing applications,” says Karl-Friedrich Edenhuizen, Product Manager Production Printing Group at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “Its revolutionary High Chroma toner produces vivid and natural colours pioneering a new level of quality in production printing.” HC toner’s most important feature is its ability to reproduce more of the sRGB range than was previously possible. Thus, the new bizhub PRESS C70hc creates colours almost as they are displayed on, for example on a calibrated monitor. The HC toner is derived from Konica Minolta’s Simitri HD toner technology and features much higher colour saturation than is possible with the CMYK process. The bizhub PRESS C70hc features a resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi (8-bit) and works with Konica Minolta’s advanced colour processing technology S.E.A.D. II (Screen-Enhancing Active Digital Process), which guarantees exceptional colour reproduction at up to 71 A4 pages per minute. The system can be equipped with any of three controllers – EFI Fiery, Creo Colour Server or a unique, proprietary Konica Minolta controller – and handles media of up to 300 gsm.

Another important aspect of the bizhub PRESS C70hc feature set is its RGB workflow flexibility. Thanks to seamless integration with RGB workflows, colour setup and colour conversion are fast and easy. With HC toner and its capabilities in reproducing the RGB range, Konica Minolta has shown great understanding for what graphic arts companies, commercial printers and central reprographic departments need for printing direct mail items, marketing collateral, computer graphics, brochures, business cards, labels or POS material. The bizhub PRESS C70hc comes in different configurations suited to the most frequent customer finishing requirements, including GBC punching, stapling options, a generous selection of folding functions, booklet creation and binding. “‘What you see is what you print’ is the maxim for our High Chroma toner implemented in the new bizhub PRESS C70hc,” adds Karl-Friedrich Edenhuizen. “Complicated conversion processes from sRGB into CMYK are a thing of the past. Besides that, the new bizhub pairs its unprecedented colour printing potential with impressive media flexibility and comprehensive inline finishing options.”
