Press release A4 for professionals: the new bizhub 36 and bizhub 42 MFPs Langenhagen, Germany, November 2011 Smaller workgroups in large organisations will welcome Konica Minolta’s new A4 MFPs, compact enough to serve as satellites in a larger fleet. Still, the new bizhub 36 and bizhub 42 are also capable of serving smaller organisations as a central communication hub. The robust devices are Konica Minolta’s first monochrome A4 MFPs that offer A3 capability via a bypass tray, enhancing the flexibility for offices that rarely need A3 prints. “We are pleased to present the bizhub 36 and bizhub 42 as new members of our Konica Minolta MFP family,” says Christina Degener, Product Manager at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “With nearly the same application compatibility as our A3 MFPs, these unrivalled A4 models offer good integration into the Konica Minolta A3 line-up.” The new bizhub 36 and bizhub 42 feature print, copy and colour scanning as well as optional fax functionality. They are also Konica Minolta’s first monochrome A4 MFPs with A3 capability via a bypass tray, thus enhancing the flexibility for offices that rarely need A3 printing. Flexibility is also enhanced by the integrated finisher for corner and 2-point stapling. The additional convenience stapler caters for quick and easy stapling of already printed documents. Using Konica Minolta’s own bEST Personal Copy software and an additional colour printer even permits colour copying. Offering seamless integration into the existing A3 line-up, the new bizhub 36 and bizhub 42 send colour scans to a variety of destinations such as e-mail, USB, FTP, and SMB. Furthermore, they allow central allocation and administration of individual user rights as well as password protection and IC card authentication for increased security and reduced output of unnecessary printouts. Compatibility with 1
Konica Minolta’s Universal Print Driver (UPD) that recently won the BLI Outstanding Achievement Award in Innovation eliminates the need for individual drivers on each compatible output device. With PageScope Mobile, Konica Minolta’s free app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, users can print documents on the bizhub 36 and bizhub 42 from anywhere using their mobile device or send scans from the A4 MFPs to their mobile device. The security functionalities of the bizhub 36 and the bizhub 42 include secure network communication and HDD overwrite, meaning that prior to disposal or relocation of a machine an administrator can overwrite the entire hard disk. Thanks to their top class total energy consumption (TEC) value and the integrated Simitri HD toner with biomass, both Konica Minolta systems meet the highest eco standards and are certified with the Blue Angel and the Energy Star eco labels.
