Southern Spreaders expands their range Following extensive research, development and rigorous testing Southern Spreaders have added two new machines to their already impressive line up of spreaders. “The Linkage Spreader and the Trailing Spreaders have been in development for two years and we are really excited to have started to deliver our first units to some of our existing clients,” said Jeff Keyte at the company’s manufacturing headquarters in Ballarat, Victoria. Southern Spreaders has been building

spreaders for the contractor and large scale farmer for 10 years and has recently moved into a purpose built and fitted-out factory in Ballarat. Southern Spreaders have been building spreaders for a long time and Managing Director Jeff has had first hand knowledge as a spreading contractor in his own

The new Linkage Spreader is user friendly and can be disconnected from the tractor quickly. contracting business before he purchased Southern Spreaders. It was just a natural progression to offer quality locally built linkage and trailing spreaders that were smaller and cheaper than a full contractor’s setup but without loosing the advantages associated with their spreaders. The Linkage Spreader can spread a variety of products from heavy rate lime and manure to light rate urea. It is very user friendly, allowing the operator to quickly disconnect the Linkage machine and perform other tasks with the same tractor.

The new Trailing Spreader can spread a variety of products with a wide pattern, resulting in less passes.

The Trailing Spreader — like the Linkage Spreader — can spread a variety of different products with a wide spread pattern that allows less compaction in the paddock and increased productivity due to less passes.

Complementing the new range of spreaders is a comprehensive spare parts and service division at Southern Spreaders. “Our spare parts and service division holds a large number of spare parts in stock to ensure that time lost due to break down is kept to an absolute minimum,” said Mathew Pfeifer, Manufacturing Manager at the Ballarat headquarters. The two new additions to the Southern Spreaders family can be viewed at the factory in Ballarat.
