Kohanaiki’s best golfers gather for this Member Club Championship Tournament. Men and Ladies’ flights compete in gross and net divisions. A practice round on opening day is followed by two days of 18hole rounds. Winners will be announced and trophies awarded upon the final round.
NINE & DINE
These afternoon scrambles on the golf course are followed by a gathering at one of Kohanaiki’s restaurants and two tasty chef’s choice pūpū. Champions.
PAR 3 GOLF EVENTS
On Wednesday afternoons prior to the start of a major PGA golf tournament, join Kohanaiki's golf professionals at the Practice Facility for some Par 3 fun.
WĀHINE GOLF DAYS WED & FRI
Wāhine of all skill levels gather each Wednesday for nine or 18 holes of golfformat determined by the golf professional. The 18-hole crew rallies at 9 a.m. and the 9-hole players join in at 11 a.m. The morning of golf is followed by lunch. On Friday’s a slightly more serious golf match kicks off at 9:00am for 18 holes of fun.
KĀNE GOLF DAYS MON & FRI
Monday’s begin with a casual match amongst friends. Formats change weekly, based on the number of players. On Friday’s, a weekly men’s skins game starts at noon with contests for closest to the pin on all par 3s. This is a great way to meet and reconnect with Club Members. Challenge yourself with individual net and gross skins, and a 2-net best ball for the foursome.

There’s no better way to enhance your day than with a session in the Pacific Ocean. Visit the Adventure Team at their beach hale and let these watermen/women share their knowledge and guide you through an adventure of your choice. Snorkeling, outrigger canoe paddling, stand-up paddle boarding, canoe fishing, shoreline fishing, use of an underwater scooter, or, if the waves are just right, a surf lesson, are all possible. The A-Team is at the beach hale daily, starting at 7 a.m.
STAND-UP PADDLE CLUB
Build balance and core strength during an hour of paddling and fitness with the Adventure Team. Bi-monthly on Tuesday’s, spaces are limited.

Canoe paddling enthusiasts will enhance their technique and get a whole body fitness experience with a full hour of paddling. Start at two miles and work your way up with an eye to participating competitively in island canoe races.

Whether you crave the thrill of fishing, the tranquility of snorkeling, the excitement of tubing, or the awe of whale watching and SCUBA diving (for certified divers), this 39-foot Yellowfin boat promises a liberating and invigorating experience. Alternatively, savor the joy of cruising along the scenic Kona Coast shoreline, basking in the day or catching a mesmerizing sunset with ‘ohana. Captain Paulo and the Kai Kea crew stand ready to tailor a personalized trip just for you. The boat comes provisioned with light snacks and beverages, with options for additional food and drinks upon request. For convenience, Kohanaiki's transportation team ensures seamless service to and from the harbor. There is a three-hour minimum and six passenger maximum. Contact Member Services for reservations.
KOHANAIKI SCUBA DAY ON THE KAI KEA
The Kai Kea crew will take a small group of experienced SCUBA divers to exquisite dive locations on the Kona Coast. These half-day excursions are very popular and space on each dive trip is limited.

The year of the Horse. The Horse is just one symbol of the Chinese zodiac, a repeating 12year cycle of animal signs and their ascribed attributes, based on a lunar calendar. The animals representing each of the years are the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. In Hawai`i, Chinese New Year is often celebrated with street parties or celebrations at public places like shopping centers, always featuring a Chinese Lion Dance, to bring luck and prosperity to merchants.

This annual celebration is a Japanese cultural holiday. Hinamatsuri means “Doll Festival,” but the day is also referred to as Girls’ Day. It is celebrated each year on March 3 and on this day families pray for the happiness and prosperity of their girls. Often families will display special dolls in their homes and prepare festive foods.

Kodomo no Hi, literally "children’s day", is a Japanese holiday that has been adopted by Hawai`i. This celebration, held in the family circle, is dedicated to children, especially boys. The koinobori flag carp is one of its iconic symbols and you will see them flying from bamboo poles at houses around the island, one carp for each boy in the home.

Kamehameha Day in Hawai'i celebrates the birthday of Kamehameha I, a warrior and leader who united the Islands of Hawai'i under one rule. Canoe races, parades, ho'olaule'a and the festive draping of lei on statues of Kamehameha in Kohala and Hilo are all part of the celebration. Kohala is the birthplace of Kamehameha and the community always celebrates on June 11, no matter the day of the week.
