What makes the Fenton Chamber so great? I believe any successful organization has a great deal to do with leadership. Our Fenton Chamber is not only innovative, but responsive to the needs of the community. Our Board stays attuned to its mission and is very welcoming to new members.
Favorite aspect of the Fenton Chamber: Being a part of watching 30 years of history unfold in the city, being able to meet so many wonderful people and having the opportunity to work with the Board of Directors and members.
Favorite Quote/Saying: “Life is Service, Guide by Love” “Together we can do more!”
Favorite Movie: White Christmas
Some of your hobbies and/or interests: I love being President of St. Clare Hospital Auxiliary. It has grown from 6 to 72 members in 5 years, setting goals for fundraising to increase patient satisfaction. I find great satisfaction in helping other people.
Two things we may not know about you: - I still live on the farm in Fenton that I was born on 81 years ago. - I’ve been active on committees and worked with organizations since I was a child, internationally and locally.

B2B: 5 Digital Must-Dos 1. Increase the quality of content, rather than the quantity Content is considered to be the most exciting digital opportunity in B2B marketing today. As a result, 51% of B2B marketers plan to increase their content marketing budgets this year. BUT, value trumps volume, according to the 72% who plan to focus on developing higher-quality and more engaging content. Emphasizing quality over quantity in content creation makes it easier to turn digital traffic into higher revenue.
2. Land quality leads by following the customer journey Securing quality leads is the most important metric to B2B marketers, but one of the greatest challenges. Still, 87% of B2B marketers believe the best way to improve the quality of leads is to understand the customer’s purchasing methods, which can be determined by charting the customer journey. Understanding the customer’s thought process and preferences is key to digital success.
4. Make marketing happen automatically It’s difficult enough to capture quality leads, but then you need to nurture them throughout the customer journey. Marketing automation allows businesses to streamline development and management of digital campaigns. The ease and effectiveness of marketing automation has led 66% of B2B organizations to invest more in marketing automation this year.
5. Work with what’s working well Today, marketers rank search engine marketing (SEM) as the most effective paid digital marketing tactic, followed by webinars. These two tactics will become even more important as digitally-minded Millennials make up more of the B2B workplace since they’re more inclined to research online prior to any interaction with sales reps. SEM fulfills millennials’ search needs, while webinars respond to their quest for information, making these digital marketing tactics even more valuable in the coming years.
3. Forecast the future Marketing analytics have yielded enormous benefits for years, which is why 55% of B2B organizations plan to increase predictive analytics this year. B2B companies can use predictive analytics in order to understand how high-value customers engage and optimize their marketing, for maximum reach and for locating new leads.

BE SOCIAL AT WORK Chitchat can be very important as it builds relationships and helps you stay plugged in to the office grapevine. Share a joke, anecdote or personal story while standing at the copier or waiting for a meeting to start. Schedule a coffee break with an office buddy.

Jim Butler Named 2015 Chevrolet “Dealer of the Year” “After 12 years of continuously improving our customer service ratings and increasing sales year after year, we are proud to be recognized by Chevrolet as Dealer of the Year,” Sowers said. “Because of the hard work of our employees and a strong focus on our customers, we are now considered one of the ‘best of the best’ Chevrolet dealers in the world.” Jim Butler Chevrolet has earned numerous accolades, including the General Motors “Mark of Excellence” award for six years in a row and the Women’s Choice Award. The BBB has recognized the dealership with its Torch Award for outstanding customer service and exceptional standards for ethical business practices.
Jim Butler Chevrolet is one of the Top 21 dealerships nationwide for annual new car sales. It is also the largest new and certified pre-owned dealer in Missouri. However, the award is about more than just hitting sales records. The award honors dealers’ performance in sales, service, customer satisfaction as well as community involvement. Sowers, co-owner and president of Jim Butler Auto Group, said the award was long coveted by the dealership.
Edward Jones—Sean C. King
Sowers is optimistic that 2016 will be a banner year for Chevy sales, both nationwide and at his dealership. He recently introduced two new programs to draw even more customers. SNAP (Simple New Auto Plan) is designed to attract millennials by offering a new car with the latest technology, affordable lease payments and even free oil changes and tire rotations. Business Elite is a program for business customers that includes priority maintenance services, free loaner vehicles during maintenance, fleet management and other customer incentives. Chevrolet continues as the industry’s fastest growing brand. In 2015, Chevrolet had its best sales year since 2007. Nationwide, GM has 3,800 dealers and only 56 have been recognized as a Dealer of the Year.

A Message From…
Mayor Polizzi City of Fenton Here’s an update regarding the TIF proposal: The TIF Commission has started the process to evaluate TIF concerns at the Fenton Logistics Park site (former Chrysler Plants). We were allowed to name three Fenton residents to this commission (the rest of the commission were chosen by St. Louis County). Our participants are: Steve Campbell, Phil Charlack, and Rick Mayhew. Andrew Sobey (Alderman, Ward 1) and I attended the first TIF meeting on June 1st. I was very impressed by our representatives and their participation in the discussions. At the meeting, the members of the commission were given packets containing a written outline of the proposed TIF’s economics and functionality. If the commission feels they need additional information, they will call an interim meeting. The date of July 6th has been set aside for that meeting, if necessary, to discuss questions they may have regarding this specific TIF program; it will be held at Fenton City Hall (time TBA). This meeting, if called, will be open to the public. The next step of the process will be the TIF Commission Public Hearing at Fenton City Hall on July 20th at 6:30 p.m. At this meeting, the public will be able to make comments (after completing a public comment request form prior to the meeting). There is no “set” duration for the existence of a TIF Commission. They, themselves, decide when they have enough research and information to determine the merits of the TIF and when/ how to proceed.
