HO! HO! HO! HOLIDAY BAZAAR A SUCCESS..…..8
PANCAKE BREAKFAST NETWORKING…………..16
Dear Fellow Chamber Members: The Holidays are here which created the perfect theme for our 9th Annual Awards & Installation Luncheon. Congratulations again to all of the deserving award winners and thank you those vendors who participated in the Ho! Ho! Ho! Holiday Bazaar! Speaking of shopping and the holidays, the 2013-14 Community Guide has reached most of our members by now and this is one of the best times to utilize the guide this holiday for shopping this season in Fenton, specifically Chamber Members first! One of the many things I am looking forward to in the new year is the ―Shop Local Campaign‖ being kicked off at the February membership luncheon. This is an effort by the chamber to support its members and our community. We encourage you not only to participate by ―pledging‖, but to look for other ways you might be able to get involved with this program. I realize it may sound a little cliché, but if we all do our little part, it will add up to a tremendous amount of benefits for our area businesses and residents of Fenton. Our next luncheon one that you will not want to miss! We will host ―The Telephone Doctor‖ herself, Nancy Friedman, as she speaks about ― How to Provide the Best Customer Service‖. She will focus on going above and beyond what ―everyone else‖ does and how that ultimately will translate into positive results! What a great way to kick off the new year! I think the entire Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce, including the members, Board of Directors, and most deservingly the Chamber Office staff deserves a huge ―pat on the back‖ for a very productive 2013 and a very bright 2014 to look forward to. The Board and the staff work very hard to better serve our membership. Speaking of the Board of Directors, a huge thank you to Larry Belgeri of Westside Personnel Services for his dedication to the Board for 10 years who will be retiring at the end of this 2013 year… we wish you all the best and a happy retirement! Thank you to our membership for all of your support that keeps our Chamber constantly improving. As you enter into next year, don‘t forget the Chamber can help you obtain your business and personal goals by getting involved in the many opportunities available, including sponsorships, advertising, networking, volunteer opportunities, and much much more! Finally I would like to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year! Once again, as you shop through the holidays and into 2014, SHOP CHAMBER FIRST, SHOP FENTON FIRST!!! Sincerely, Greg Bresler President – Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce General Manager – Andre‘s Banquets and Catering

Export Missouri launches Global Market Access Program to help Missouri companies increase their exports The Global Market Access Program (G-MAP), part of Gov. Jay Nixon‘s new Export Missouri Initiative, is now accepting applications. G-MAP is a cost-sharing program that helps small businesses participate in international trade activities, trade missions and foreign market sales trips to get their products in front of a global audience. ―Activities covered through this program provide Missouri businesses opportunities to showcase their products and develop relationships with potential customers through face-to-face meetings,‖ said Mike Downing, acting director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. ―More than 5,000 Missouri businesses, of all sizes and in all parts of the state, already export and find it to be a great way to increase sales.‖ The deadline to submit applications for trade activities in 2014 is December 31, 2013; notice of awards will be made in early January. The program is administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development‘s (DED) Division of Business and Community Services. G-MAP is open to Missouri companies that meet the following requirements: operating for at least three years, employs 500 workers or fewer, grosses less than$25 million in annual sales, exports to at least one market currently (51% of the value of exported product must be derived in Missouri) have a strategic plan for exporting. Some of the marketing activities that qualify for funding include: trade show exhibitions, foreign trade missions and sales trips, subscription services, language translation fees, and market media. For complete guidelines and an application for the Global Market Access Program, go to www.ExportMissouri.mo.gov. Trade specialists in the International Trade and Investment Office of DED are available to help businesses interested in learning more about export opportunities or needing assistance completing the G-MAP application. Contact one of the international trade specialists by calling 573-751-4855 or e-mailing email@example.com.
