WOW!!! The month of August in Fenton was TERRIFIC! The community really came alive on Saturday, August 25 for the ―Fenton Days‖ event in Olde Towne Fenton. There was a wide variety of vendors and attendees as far as the eye could see, out to celebrate 175 years of the Fenton community. Our very own Mayor, Dennis Hancock, was the speaker and delivered the New Bridge Dedication to crowd. The feedback received from the festival participants was very positive. The fireworks display received glowing remarks as even being better than our St. Louis riverfront show on July 4th. I soon realized my personal weakness that day as my son Jeffrey and I got beat rather quickly in the Olde Towne Fenton Business Association washers tournament. We met some very talented players who were very clear about making washers not a game but a way of life. We hope to be back again next year to try our luck! There was no doubt that we saw many festival goers who were really enjoying the afternoon of family fun and all-around entertainment. Two days later on Monday, August 27th, 132 golfers participated in the 23rd Annual FACC Golf Tournament at Tapawingo National Golf Club! Congratulations to our winning foursomes and a huge thank you to everyone who made the event a success: committee, sponsors, donors, volunteers and staff! We had a great event and we look forward to seeing each of you out again next year. Please mark your calendars for three September Ribbon Cuttings. September 13th—On Target Bookkeeping Services; September 21st—UniQue Ideas ‗N More and September 27—Line-X of Jefferson County. Remember that, as a Chamber, we must come together to support our fellow members, especially in their successes like these upcoming ribbon cutting celebrations. Be sure to check the website at www.fentonmochamber.com for all upcoming events and plan to attend! I look forward to seeing each of you very soon.
