But who is behind the company and what is their story? The answers to these questions will give you a better understanding of the care and precision used in crafting the patented cookware from Fusion Guard® that has led to world class partnerships. What is the story behind your company? Over 40 years ago our family’s OEM/ODM manufacturing business was founded by the patriarch of the family, Gary Advani, and is now managed by his two sons Joe Advani and Vin Advani. Shortly after inception in the 80’s, we focused on becoming a leading supplier of consumer products with exports across the globe. Over the years we have successfully conceptualized, manufactured, and distributed over 1,500 unique projects including the aforementioned, Fusion Guard® line of cookware. How has your business progressed in the past few years? Being successful in business for over 40 years inevitably means changing our business model to sustain growth. We are a onestop-shop inspiring innovative ideas, to development, and then manufacturing. Over the years we have successfully added Marketing and Distribution to our portfolio of services performed. Though headquartered in Hong Kong, we have steadily expanded our presence across the globe to the US, Italy, UK, and Canada. While we have grown across the board the one constant has been the desire to bring change through innovation in everything we do. Being in business for that long must mean that you’ve hit challenges along the way. What are some of these challenges and how do you feel you’ve overcome them? The manufacturing business is ever changing and over the years we have expanded to accommodate several types of markets. The most recent change has been in the dynamic of the consumer since the pandemic. More people are staying home and cooking their own healthy meals. The technology created by Fusion Guard® allows for the up-and-coming chefs of the new age to create meals with less fat and oils and with the health safety that no other cookware in the marketplace currently offers. Why choose cookware? Aside from the fact that the cookware market is projected to be over 20 billion dollars in the next 6 years with a growth rate of 7%, the team has been involved with the manufacturing and development of cookware and kitchenware over the last 7 to 8 years. Surprisingly, the idea of antimicrobial food prep was conceived 3 to 4 years ago (pre-pandemic). The projected growth for the antimicrobial coating market is also in the billions, seven billion to be exact. With a rising annual growth rate of 6%. While there was some development of antimicrobial technology by the R&D team, we put a lot more emphasis on it after the pandemic began. The team felt that this was a widely used category that hasn’t been revolutionized or hasn’t advanced in the last decade, and this was the perfect opportunity to disrupt the category and aid in safe and healthy living on a global scale. What is Fusion Guard®? Fusion Guard® is cookware that has been engineered to infuse the proven antimicrobial effectiveness of silver ions to inhibit the growth of bacteria. This entirely new concept is revolutionary and will aid in eliminating bacteria born illnesses in cooked food. Is there an aspect of the technology created by Fusion Guard® that was exceptionally challenging?

We wanted to introduce technology that will enable future chefs to cook with health in mind and we came up with the antimicrobial technology. Aside from the innovation of the product being challenging the technology itself differentiates our products in the market and brings about a new age of cookware that is more health conscious by design. Have you been successful with the Fusion Guard® brand in the Global Economy? Healthy alternatives are at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Fusion Guard® embodies the essence of health and is designed to ensure that not only is the food healthier by using less fats and oils, but also ensuring that harmful bacteria is killed with the patented antimicrobial technology. This antimicrobial technology is what drives the global success of our brand and product and ensures on-going success for years to come. What do you see as the current and future contributing factors to the success of the Fusion Guard® lineup? Developing and working with this cookware line has changed the way we approach our business considerably. If we look at our go-to market approach, we have been immersed in collaborations. We have been driven to create a sense of community amongst our consumers and partners, and that lead us to partner with top brands, chefs, and influencers amongst others. These affluent chefs showcased our Fusion Guard® products on their platforms and have caught the attention of aspiring home-chefs as well as established chefs everywhere. But then we also have to lean on our go to strength, innovation. Led by our SVP, Sanjeev “Sunny” Tuli, who oversees the branding and go-to-market strategy for the brands, the team has been working tirelessly on their goals to launch new and innovative products, brands across the cookware and other categories starting with cutlery. We also have some exciting partnerships planned, so stay tuned! Do you feel as though you are catering to a niche market, or can anyone use your cookware and other products? We offer an up-and-coming range of products that are suitable for home chefs as well as chefs that are masters of their craft. With some of the new products and lines we have launching, the Fusion Guard® development and marketing teams have created something for everyone, all crafted with the same mastery and technology that is durable, luxurious, aspirational, safe, healthy, and affordable. What other innovations will we see down the road and how is the category itself primed for growth? Does Apple tell you what is rolled up their sleeves? I can’t give you intimate details, however, we can share that we have a lot of new products in developments including adding antimicrobial technology to bakeware, small appliances and more! Our extremely talented product development teams are actively working on engineering products outside of the cookware realm that will help aspiring chefs and masters alike in all forms of food prep. Simon Costain is the owner and senior partner in the Gait and Posture Centre LLP and has more than 45 years of practice experience in Podiatry. He held a Consultant Podiatry post in the NHS and has worked in Harley Street since 1985. Simon is one of the founders of Podiatric Surgery and Podiatric Sports medicine in the UK, but for many years has specialised in non-surgical gait evaluation techniques and, where possible, offers alternatives to surgery for foot problems. Both have the sole purpose of supporting local businesses and their respective local communities through thick and thin! Over the last few years there have been huge changes in our business sector with many businesses closing due to Covid-19, changes in the way people advertise with many opting to move back to digital ... and to cap it all off, multiple price rises in the cost of paper resulting in a backlash with rises across the printed media industry. It’s been a very difficult journey, watching businesses close due to financial difficulties but we’re very proud to have been a part of the journey of those that have struggled through and survived. THE SPECIAL TAX REGIMES IN GREECE In an age when business models are marked by expansion and digital disruption, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) have become central to the strategies of most global companies. The pace of today’s M&A activity demands decisionmakers to make the right moves confidently and swiftly to avoid missing opportunities. Many of today’s international companies have made expansion through acquisitions a pillar of their strategy and even though deal-making levelled off in 2019, it appears that the climate is changing despite the continuation of COVID-19, as well as other geopolitical uncertainties such as Brexit. This trend is also strengthened by the realization that those companies that made acquisitions during a time of crisis outperformed those that retreated and retrenched. According to the data of Bank of Greece, the (net) inflows of Foreign Direct Investment in Greece for 2020, presented a decrease of 37.3%, whereas according to UNCTAD estimates for 2020 (Investment Trends Monitor, January 2021), developed countries experienced a 69% decline in FDI inflows, while in the EU-27 the inflows of FDI decreased by 71%. The trend continued in 2021 and investors reconfirmed their trust in March 2021, when Greece successfully raised EUR 2.5 billion from its first 30-year bond sale in more than a decade, with the issue more than 10 times oversubscribed. This clearly shows that despite the COVID-19 crisis during 2020 and 2021 the Greek Economy has proven to be resilient and the perception of the country as an investment destination continues to improve after a decade of economic crises, with investors citing Greece’s comparative advantages of ‘an economy with prospects for solid economic growth and stability in the wider region’, ‘quality of life’ and ‘quality of the labor force’. The Greek government has committed to achieving four to seven percent economic gross domestic product (GDP) growth for 2022-2027. A focus on green initiatives, Energy and Renewables and private sector companies who survived the COVID-19 financial crisis is helping to push deal growth. In addition, banks have committed to reducing their NPE/NPL portfolios to single digits — delivering credit in the process. The housing sector traditionally a key growth factor for the Greek economy, appears to be emerging from the pandemic largely unscathed and in the M&A market, foreign investors are seeing attractive valuations that — with adequate capital infusion— may create sector leaders when the economy starts growing.
