The heart of impulses and innovations •T  he games industry is one of the most innovative and fastest industries in the world – the importance of the industry was impressively demonstrated in 2017 by, among other things, the visit of Chancellor Angela Merkel! •T  he best-in-class show gamescom is one of the most important locations worldwide for new technologies and games premieres! According to the motto „Playing together“, the focus in 2017 was on the top trends of virtual reality and e-sports. •O  ne of the best addresses in Europe for games and digitalisation was the devcom: the game developer event attracted more than 3,000 visitors and 200 speakers to Cologne for the premiere. •T  he gamescom award is one of the most coveted awards for the European industry: in a total of 21 categories, the international jury conferred distinctions both for the most innovative games and for pioneering gaming products.
