In 2011, The University of Plymouth Vice-Chancellor’s Enterprise Awards will once again celebrate enterprise, creativity and innovation in the University, City and wider region.

“This whole evening was a complete triumph in celebrating the University’s leadership of the City, the great team feeling including with all of us people who are keenly leaning inwards from the outreach field, and of course the Vice-Chancellor’s personal commitment to lead, lead, lead. It was absolutely superb in every way – a spectacular event, which could not have been bettered in London ... or even Paris!” charles howeson chairman, First Great western trains AB, chairman nhs sw and chairman coutts and co Bankers sw speaking on the Vc’s Enterprise Awards 2010

The awards, now in their third year, also acknowledge the University’s role in encouraging enterprising behaviour, bringing practitioners and businesses into the classroom and keeping our teaching and research innovative and commercially relevant. They celebrate the achievements of our staff, students, community and business partners towards establishing Plymouth as the enterprise university. This year’s prestigious Award ceremony will take place on Thursday 15 September 2011 in the graduation marquee overlooking The Hoe and will include the launch of our 150th anniversary celebrations. In addition to this, The Americas Cup, the oldest trophy in international sport, is coming to Plymouth and the University is proud to be hosting guests and providing a base for the organising team within the marquees.

why sponsor? The Awards provide a unique networking opportunity, encouraging the development of relationships between budding and experienced entrepreneurs and emerging, growing and successful businesses. Last year almost 400 people attended including high profile names from local and regional businesses, members of parliament and councillors from the Plymouth area as well as the key staff, students and budding entrepreneurs from the University. With the added benefit of the Americas Cup using the marquee during the week this exposure could be truly global!
