year (project): 2011 The kindergarten building has been located among high and old trees the plot is a part of park - thus a serrounding greenery become the most important context for the project. A closed-modules arrengement makes up the building plan, creating in this way an open space between them. This lay-out relates to the arrengement of trees that are growing in the park. The main aim was to create a nursery concept where an architectural space is modeled particularly for small user, enabling comprehensive progress and growth of preschooler, given his requirements, possibilities, preferences and functional constraints. The Kindergarten has been designed as a wooden skeleton structure, by dint of advantages of this technology: ecology, assembly quickness and possibility of prefabrication.

"Closed-modules", which contain technical functions, require lower ceiling lever than "open-modules" (classrooms) so that they are designed as two-floors units, ofering a mezzanine lited by top-side windows and visually conected with a classroom space. All the "closed-modules" are covered with the same material both inside and outside, giving an impression of infiltrafion of internal open spaces with external park open space. Vertical divisions between classrooms and shared recreational spaces are made of glass walls in wooden skeleton structure. The aim was not to divide thise space but but to connect visually (the glass walls are equipped with roller blinds in case of need). Some walls between clasrooms (called "integrative walls") have also toys drawer boxes on floor and sitting window sills located alternatively so that children from difrent groups could meet and get to know each other there by the way.

In order to intensify an impression of one, common space inside and ouside the building, the floor has been designed as a geometrical composition in the classroom also spreading over the outside terrace which makes up an extension of the classroom. The floor composition is inspired by Mondrian artwork, relates to the vertical architectural elements and divide the floor into fields of diffrent dimensions, textures and tones. That is supposed to inspire children for playing, learning, individual zone choices and to stimulate imagination.

The "closed-module" serves two classrooms touching each of them with one wall. Frome one side there are toilet facilities and staircase leading to the mezzanine and on the other cabinets for toys and hiding places for children under the stairs.

The mezzanines are located on a hight of visual penetration of the teacher who stays on the groundfloor classroom. At the same time this spaces make up an intimate places for children: to feel hidden, isolated, to play alone or to have a sleep in case of need. The mezzanine and the staircase leading to it alows watching the activity of children playing in the classroom and alternatively quickly join them.

The "closed-modules" are covered with uniform material - wood - but each of them has a diffrent covering pattern offering children a possibility of discovering diffrent textures. Just like tree bark.

function: dramatic theater location: ul. komandorska

year (project): 2010 The theater building is located by intersection of streets Komandorska and street there is a railway embankment what makes up a transport barrier and thus intensify a pedestrian traffic and automotive on this way. In this situation the theater building gets 3 "active" elevations: one along the railway, second from west urban traffic and third - park side. Making use of this fact, the three facades of the building became a kind of "exposition" of activity which is taking place inside the theater. It is said that the theater performance audience apears as actors during the intermission. Thus the foyer area has been exposed on glass facades which works as a big scene for pedestrians view. The theater had to be designed very compact and in functional arrengement as the plot area was very small.

function: textile institute location: year (project): 2008

Textile institute is a loboratory building, where the researches on innovative fabrics are being carried out. The works are taking place in isolated laboratories, lecture halls and seminar rooms. The aim was to create a space for "workers community" so that the building has been designed as a multiple individual neighboring units arranged in their common space. Due to the work nature of institute, the building has been designed as a closed system - inside oriented. The two interior atriums (one per each block) and open-space hall work as integrating, relaxing space, providing as well a breath and mind refresh from laborious work.

location: industry park The institute building plan is based on ortogonal net with grid lines offset every 3m and 9m by turns. This kind of grid let us create a layout of closed rooms and corridors. The two-storey heigh atriums and very heigh entrance hall are visually connecting two floors of the building. Each corridor reaches the building boundary and it is finished with glass providing an impression of continuity in the exterior.

Thanks to the "unit-like" plan of the building the eventual extension is possible not only in east but as well towards west, getting through this even a double space as the planned building.

All the elevations are made of glass but the room windows on the first floor are additionally covered by a second facade system providing a shade regulation (a metal regular frame filled with openable metal net units). Whole groundfloor level is visually open to outside as is closes up public functions available for people from outside: visitorsand customers. The interioir corridors which go clean through the building are visible on every elevation.
