LIBRARY AND INNOVATIVE SCIENCE CENTER Forth Year Design Studio I

The separation of one form shifting into two stacking forms.

The focus is taking two shaped forms and stacking them while shifting and moving these objects to two separate direction. This project needed a special defined space in the program other than the usual general collection. Having a science center gives the building two main focuses which are separated onto the two forms. Making the separation of the form both an exterior and interior experience. LOCKHART, TX 20,400 sq. ft.

Mercado de Santa Caterina, Barcelona

The inspiration of this project was mercado de santa caterina in Barcelona, Spain. I wanted to take this new entry and put this roof structure to cover and connect the new and the old. Keeping a structure that was supposed to be demolished, this design renewed the facade of italian architecture and brought it to life.

The main interior program was this new entry path from the new entry to the old entry. this interior space is 3 stories high with views up to this raw new roof structure. This space also views the path ways to the other levels to auditoriums and study spaces.

CAMPUS COMMUNITY CENTER Third Year Design Studio I

This building is a connection of local community of Kent and Kent State University. With a daycare, theater, gym, and studio spaces; this building applies to Kent as a whole. With a green roof and the sloped form, this building fits right into the landscape of Hilltop Drive.

CULTURAL RECREATION CENTER Second Year Design Studio II

Given the program of a athletic rec center as well as incoporating space for community such as massage center and lounge library space, this design started with looking at site. Separating surrounding exterior site programs into groups of comerical, residential, medical, and education, gave the opportunity to do the same proccess of interior program (private, fitness, relaxation, wet space)

Started the massing by having one main center core, culture. And having each group of program physically wrap around that center focus of culture.

ITALIAN COLLABORATION PROJECT WITH UNIVERSITY OF FLORENCE Third Year Design Studio II

This project was a landscape urban project in Florence, Italy. The idea was to create a public space that connects the river, city, and the historical Tower.

(Rendering done by University of Florence Student)

This was a group project with 2 University of Florence Grad Students and 3 KSU Florence Students. We split up drawings as well as I built the model. Our collabortive design is to physically connect city with river by creating the middle ground. Our building is completely underground with the main facade facing toward the river. The program was an auditorium space, cafe, and work/ study spaces.
