Every day, Kiwanians’ are revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth-sports programs, tutoring, building playgrounds, and performing countless other projects to help children and communities. Officers and Board of Di rectors for 2010-11: President: Regena Butler; President Elect: Al Burrows; Vice Pres. Will Thomas; Secretary: Don Hart; Treasurer: Doug McKinstry; Past President: Beth Calhoun; Directors for a (1Yr) term are: Lynn Williams, Chip Capaldo, Phyllis Wiseman, and Gary Heuertz. Directors for a (2Yr) terms are: John Calhoun, Bill Sharp, Tony Caponigro, and Daryl Tapper The nomination committee has presented the following slate of 2011-12 candidates for election to office: P resident, Al Burrows; P resident elect, Will Thomas; Vice-P resident- None at present; Secretary, Don Hart; T reasurer, Doug McKinstry (2 Yr) te rm as Di rector: Mark Burdt; Denny Treanor; Chip Capaldo; Mary Treanor (1Yr) term as Di rector: John Calhoun; Dennis Dietz; Daryl Tapper; Tony Caponigro Club Board Meeting: The Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Polk City was held at the Polk City Library on June 2nd, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order by President Regena Butler. Secreta ry M inutes: Minutes were read and approved Motion made by Chip Capaldo, seconded by Beth Calhoun. Approved (X). T reasure r’s Report : None reported Committee Reports: I n ter-clubs- Next interclub will be with Perry (TBA). Youth Services• Key Club Election of Officers for 2011-12- President, Adam Medick, Vice-President, Garrett Ley; Secretary, April Mazack; Treasurer, Jacob Wagoner; Historian, Erin Vespestad. Mary Treanor reported that chaperones are needed for the Key Leader program Oct 29-30 • Scholarships: Only two $700 scholarships were awarded to North Polk graduating seniors. After further discussion it was moved by Chip Capaldo, seconded by Bill Sharp to change eligibility to include all seniors, not just those in Key Club. Motion was defeated in a roll call vote of officers and board members. 5 nays to 4 yeas. Old Business: • We will work at the Miracle League on June 11, from 12 to 2 p.m. • Tickets are now available for the Four Seasons Festival Queen Contest. They are $1 each or 6 for $5. Prizes are 2 @$500. And 1 @$250. • BBQ tickets are now available for pre-sales. Members are encouraged to pick up your envelope. New Business: • The next meeting will be a potluck at Kiwanis Park on Jun 16th (Social time 6 pm/ Dinner at 6:30pm) Chicken, biscuits, table service and beverages will be provided. Bring vegetables, salads, and desserts, and chairs. There will be no formal program, just a chance to socialize. In case of rain, we will meet in the community center or at Miller Park shelter. Motion to adjourn: Adjourned at 7 p.m. Dates to Remember Jun 8th - Kiwanis Satellite meeting will be held at the Reising Sun Cafe on Wednesday at 7:00 am (second Wed of each month) Jun 11th - Kiwanis Miracle League Park- Need Workers contact Pres. Regena at 984-9194 Jun 16th - Kiwanis Meeting will meet at the Kiwanis Park- (Potluck) (Social time 6 pm/ Dinner at 6:30 pm) Jul 7th - Kiwanis Meeting /Board Meeting at 6:30pm/ Club meeting at 7:00 pm will be held at the Polk City Library on Broadway (Cookies/Coffee) Jul 13th - Kiwanis Satellite meeting will be held at the Reising Sun Cafe on Wednesday at 7:00 am (second Wed of each month) Jul 21st - Kiwanis Meeting will meet at the Square- I t is a working meeting only to set-up and prepare for the festival. For those who can help set-up we will probably meet down at the town square.

Should you have a conflict with your assigned program date-Switch dates with someone else and let the President know as soon as possible.
