The Cropped Shirt.
After popping up all over the spring 2013 runways, crop tops are
fast becoming a staple at music festivals and on warm nights. But for those already thinking about how to wear the look beyond summer (while still baring a sliver of stomach), there’s a modest, more refined option: the cropped sweater. Spotted at multiple resort presentations—as a turtleneck at The Row, an oversize sweatshirt at Jason Wu, and a body-con long-sleeved crewneck at Calvin Klein Connection—this new wave of abbreviated tops are the chicest iterations by far. Here, six ways to shop the trend now.
Crop tops have always been around, but are in every store you walk in now. Whether its Target, Forever 21, American Apparel or Neiman Marcus. During the summer they were very popular coming in all different prints and color. It has now even transitioned into the winter. Cropped long sleeve sweaters are now making their way into the stores. The cropped shirt is not for everyone, but it’s a good way to add some spice into your outfit. They can be paired with a high waist jean or skirt if you don’t want to reveal too much or with a skirt if you’re feeling the opposite.
