I am also working on an evaluation of a state-initiated project that aims to provide recovery-oriented treatment for young people who have recently begun to experience psychosis. Loving that winter is finally over and hoping we don’t have any super storms/hurricanes on the Eastern seaboard this summer!” Chris Colthart: “I live in northeast Los Angeles with my girlfriend and two dog beasts. We each have studios at home: art for her and music recording for me. I make music, which you can find as The Faraway Places or Gold Paint. I play local shows with my band and experimental art shows from time to time. I work at a girls’ prep school called Marlborough, which is not unlike Kinkaid. I do communications, which consists of writing, graphic design and photography for the website, alumnae correspondence, magazines and other materials. I’m working on starting a club with students here that would engage in letter writing campaigns against climate change. I’ve been playing pickup basketball, badly.” Sarah Wheless Murrin: “My husband Philip and I are in Fort Worth with three kids at Country Day. I am continuing in my art consulting business, and Philip continues his work on preserving the Fort Worth Stockyards and hosting Willie Nelson’s 4th of July picnic at Billy Bob’s Texas.”

been married 18 years. We are both well and happy and loving our early 40s. We have two sons: Bryan (10) and Alex (7). Both are healthy and thriving and working very hard to keep their parents on their toes. More often than not, they hold the mirror up and WE end up being the ones who have to grow! My parents (Jim and Buddie Bertrand) also live here in Durango, as well as my brother Jim Bertrand. Simon and I own and operate a manufacturing company. We have all the “typical” Colorado hobbies, not really necessary to list them. Living here is a dream. We are just so grateful every day. Life is good.” Matt Holland: “I have been married to a super-hot pediatrician named Eliza for the past decade and a half, and we have two children, Harris (12) and Lily May (9). We live in Charlottesville, Virginia, and I am a pain management physician with National Spine and Pain Centers. I keep hoping that someone wants to pay me to be a pro mountain biker, but my mantra of “start out slow and then taper off” during races seems to hinder my success in that area. So I guess I will just stick to stamping out disease and pestilence for a living.”

Christine Bain Williams: “All kids are at Kinkaid… Georgia is going into high school (!!!), Bain in seventh and Mary Blake into middle school as a fifth grader. I had a blast chairing field day. Blake and I are busy raising these kiddos. I am serving as ECW TKS 2015 MagazineAd-f.pdf 2 6/12/14 9:51 AM Bonnie Bertrand Gnehm: “Life is beautiful President at St. Martin’s this year. Life is here in Durango, Colorado. Simon and I have GREAT!”

Katie Mattingly Brass: “A.J. and I were thrilled to complete the BPMS150 bike ride from Houston to Austin and raise funds for the National MS Society (where Talley Gregg works). Our daughter Hallie, an upcoming middle schooler at Kinkaid, sang “Let it Go” at the fourth grade talent show AND won the Battle Bot competition in the talent show by building the strongest Lego mind storm bot “Spike”. Our second daughter Joycie lit up the stage as “The Cat” in Wildfish Theatre’s Seussical.” Peter Tropoli: “We have three children all at Kinkaid. Alexandra (going into fifth grade), Luke (going into third grade) and Peter (going into kindergarten). I am Chief Operating Officer and serve on the board of directors of Luby’s, Inc., which owns and operates all of the Luby’s and Fuddruckers restaurants. We also manage contract food service accounts for companies in places like the Texas Medical Center. My wife Sarah has been helping her dad Oliver Pennington who is going to be running for Mayor of Houston next year.” Mandy Smith Johnston: “Things are great here in Fort Worth! I’m still teaching four-year-olds, and Fred and I are busy with Louise (freshman) and Martha (fifth grade)! We are ready for summer!” Matt Colangelo: “Life is good in Austin with my wife and two kids. I work as a Sales Director for Noesis Energy, a startup software company focused on the energy

efficiency market.” Wandy Brewer Hughes: “I am a full time mom to Zelie (11) and George (8). Our kids go to Presbyterian School (a nursery through eighth grade school in the Museum District of Houston), and I am spending most of my “free” time volunteering at the school. I was chair-elect of their 2014 Gala and will chair the 2016 Gala.” Davis Paddock: “Anissa and I have two children, now in third and first. Harper, our third grader, is at Kinkaid. We enjoy seeing past classmates at school functions (and sometimes old teachers) and retracing our steps at Kinkaid.” Katrin Muir Lau: “Over the last few years, I have been delving into college counseling – training at Harvard, TCU and UC Irvine while serving at The Village School as college counselor. This year I also joined the advisory board for the Fiske Guide to Colleges. Moving forward, I am partnering with a 30-year veteran to continue as an independent college counselor; our book will be on Amazon this summer, and we are looking toward a book tour and traveling for presentations. If anyone would like a copy, let me know. Some of our kids are approaching the gate! Our two children, third and fourth grades, are still enjoying The Fay School and just finished swimming in a national meet in Louisiana. Everyone is happy, healthy and busy!”
