Joe Stilgoe is an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter. His live shows combine virtuosic musicianship and witty interaction with the audience, with the addition of innovative and stylish orchestrations to the most memorable moments in cinematic and jazz history.

100 years ago women finally got the vote in Britain. One of the great campaigners for this was the artist Sylvia Pankhurst, who has been called “the greatest Englishwoman of the twentieth century”. Sylvia tells her story against a background of 250 slides of her paintings and archive photographs. This “gripping reminder of our own – very recent – past” (TES) is followed by an audience discussion led by Jacqueline Mulhallen, the local author and actress.

Jake and Ellwood Blues are still locked up in the state penitentiary, but the head of the Nuns, Sister Mary Stigmata, needs their harmonica to save the missionary. On Corn Exchange promoted shows a £1.50 per ticket venue levy is charged and is included in the advertising ticket price. For many incoming productions, the majority of the ticket income is paid to the Production Company or Promoter. The venue levy is entirely retained by the venue. Local events and hirings are excluded from this fee.


Gift Vouchers Gift vouchers are available in any denomination and redeemable against any show at the Corn Exchange. Gift vouchers should be treated like cash, we cannot replace lost, stolen or damaged gift vouchers.

Heckling Policy

Reservations must be paid for within 7 days of booking or 24 hours before the performance or event begins, whichever is sooner. Uncollected reservations will be released for resale.

Mindless heckling and swearing at the comedians is not acceptable behaviour and will not be tolerated. Any persons who continue to draw attention to themselves in this manner will be asked to leave. For Comedy Clubs groups of 10+ will be asked to provide a deposit of £50 on the door as a good behaviour bond.

Car Parking is plentiful directly opposite on Tuesday Market Place and behind the Corn Exchange. Charges apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Blue Badge holders. A flat fee applies to evening parking. Please check the ticket machine for correct fees and times.

St George’s Guildhall The St George’s Guildhall Box Office opens 30 mins before performances. At all other times tickets are available from the Corn Exchange Box Office.
