ming, diverse and exciting places in Brighton has always been one of the national study.

UNIQUE BRIGHTON

Brighton is a place with an entirely unique history and character. It’s a university city, a new media hub, a cultural centre, an entertainment hotspot and a seaside resort — all rolled into one. The city’s distinctive landmarks add to its unique character. Historic structures such as the Royal Pavilion and Brighton’s famous Pier stand next to modern additions including the brand new i360 tower. Brighton has a cityscape unlike any other in the UK.

DIVERSE BRIGHTON

Brighton is famous for its liberal nature and diverse local population. It attracts people of all backgrounds, interests and nationalities, and in fact is one of the UK’s most international cities of its size. This is a place that is very proud of its open attitude to different cultures. You only have to see the diversity of restaurants and food styles here to know that this is city in which everyone can belong.

ACADEMIC BRIGHTON

Home to two prestigious universities — the University of Sussex and University of Brighton — this is a very studentcentred, student-friendly city. As well as the thousands of current students who live here, there are many graduates of the universities who never wanted to leave and so have made the city their permanent home.

CREATIVE BRIGHTON

Brighton is well known as a centre of creative arts. The annual Arts Festival runs throughout May each year and features performances and work from artists, photographers, musicians, dancers and actors from all over the world. The University of Brighton has an excellent reputation for art and design programmes. Kings Brighton students will be able to spend time with the local artistic community as well as gain work experience within local creative industries.

BUSINESS BRIGHTON

Brighton has long been a centre for enterprise, with global companies like American Express and BUPA making the city their home. These days the city is best known as a hub for new media and digital innovation with many exciting companies in the design, creative and tech industries. (Pictured: offices of Brightec — a Brighton-based app development agency) Kings students can benefit from a range of exciting internship opportunities with progressive local companies.

ACTIVE BRIGHTON

Brighton’s first-rate sports facilities and temperate climate mean that many people who live there enjoy an active and outdoor-focused lifestyle. The seafront is always popular for jogging, volleyball or basketball while the sea itself offers swimming, kite surfing and kayaking. There are several gyms, swimming pools and tennis courts throughout the city too. Annual sporting events include the Brighton marathon, the 10k road race and the London to Brighton bike ride. You can also watch top class football and cricket here.

VIBRANT BRIGHTON

Brighton is known for its friendly, welcoming feel. It’s a city with a national reputation for fun and a great social scene. There is a lively cafÊ and restaurant culture, which is especially vibrant during the summer when the seaside bars and cafes are buzzing. This is also a great city for theatre, comedy and live music. It’s possible to see everything from world-famous international acts to local performers in tiny venues.

The Kings Brighton building has been custom designed and constructed to meet our specific requirements as an international college. Its light, modern spaces and state-of-the-art facilities offer great learning environments, and the on-site residence and cafeteria make it the perfect place for international students who are looking for a home away from home.

An on-site laundry will be available for student use.

Double doors from the cafeteria lead to the lower level of an outside courtyard. The cafeteria has a large TV and will serve a selection of hot food every day. It will also provide meals in the evening and at weekends for students living on site.

In the basement of the building there is a cafeteria with on-site kitchen where fresh, varied meals will be prepared for students. There is also an outdoor dining area.

A well-resourced library occupies a prominent corner position overlooking the park.

On the first floor are a number of classrooms, and the student library. This is the main teaching floor, and where students will have the majority of their classes.

“ The small class sizes are a real advantage. The teachers can pay attention to each student. We are encouraged to ask lots of questions, and I always get a proper answer. The teachers understand that English isn’t our first language, so they take care of us. My vocabulary has got much wider. ” Anastasiia Kononenko, from Russia, is studying A-levels at Kings
