English for Nursing Registration (ENR) 26 week course for Registered Nurses This course is designed for foreign registered nurses who would like to work* as a registered nurse in New Zealand or overseas (e.g. Australia, USA, United Kingdom). Primarily the course is an intensive IELTS or Occuptational English Test (OET) course designed to assist foreign nurses to meet the New Zealand Nursing Council’s English language requirements for registration. (7.0 in all skill areas; speaking, listening, writing and reading for IELTS or a B band in all skill areas for OET). There is an opportunity to gain part-time work, as a variation of conditions on your student visa, of up to 20 hours per week as a Healthcare Assistant while studying.*
Aged Care Education (ACE) 12 week course for non-medically trained people This is a 12 week training course designed for people (not necessarily nurses), who wish to work as caregivers for the elderly. Entry requirement: IELTS 5.0 (or equivalent) • Stage one course covering essential caregiving knowledge and clinical skills (eg. physical care of the elderly, infection control, safety, nutrition, basic first aid and medication, etc.) • There is an opportunity to do the extended course to gain a New Zealand National Certificate in care of the older person.
