What will you do to reach them?

220 people groups have no access to the gospel.   Almost 5,000 people groups have no church capable of starting other churches. Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news -Romans 10:14-15, NIV

• Being the Head International Affairs at one of the leading MBA Business Schools in South Africa bring you in touch with various similar institutions in the world. It was therefore great to be invited to the Faculty Development Seminar of the Haggai Institute in Singapore during August 2005. But what a classy experience right from the beginning to listen to a gifted team of Haggai Faculty with a fresh and challenging way of teaching! The training was inspiring, fast paced, practical with highly interactive micro-teaching using real life examples and lively questions-and–answers sessions. We definitely felt more than equipped to conduct our future training in a Godhonouring way that brings incredible satisfaction and reflects positively on His kingdom Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Excuse One: Who am I? (Ex 3:11)

Moses struggled with his identity. He just didn’t feel qualified; he thought God has picked the wrong leader.

Excuse One: Who am I? (Ex 3:11)

God’s response: It doesn’t matter who you are. I am with you (Ex 3:12).

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Excuse Two: Who are You? (Ex 3:13)

Moses felt a lack of intimacy. He didn’t know God well enough to describe Him to the people and lacked convictions concerning his relationship with God.

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Current versus future reality • Moses concentrate too much on current reality. • Current reality is always changing. • The clearer our current reality and vision, the clearer the gap between them.

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

We are picture-oriented • If our picture of current reality is brighter and clearer than our picture of the goal we will stick with current reality. • If current reality is stronger than the goal, we will after a little progress, return to current reality, and we will give up on the goal. Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Excuse Two: Who are You? (Ex 3:13)

God’s response: I AM WHO I AM. I AM ever present. I AM everything you need (Ex 3:14).

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Excuse Three: What if they don’t listen (Ex 4:1)

Moses felt intimidated. He worried about the people’s reaction to him.

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Let’s look at the self talk of Moses • Self-talk is simply the conversation that each of us is carrying on with ourselves all day long. • It is estimated that about 50 000 thoughts go through our minds each day. • Every thought about every experience is recorded. Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Negative attitude • We are not born with our attitudes; we acquire them. • We acquire them from our own experience of life and learning and from the people round about us.

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Affirmations • There is a lot of negativity around us. • The negative self talk of others will drag us back. • It is essential, therefore, that we affirm vividly, with emotion.

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Excuse Three: What if they don’t listen (Ex 4:1)

God’s response: When I’m finished, they’ll listen (Ex 4: 2-9).

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Excuse Four: I’ve never been a good speaker (Ex 4:10)

Moses fretted about his inadequacies. Who would listen to him if he couldn’t even speak well? (Ex 4: 11,12).

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Excuse Four: I’ve never been a good speaker (Ex 4:10)

God’s response: Guess who made your mouth (Ex 4: 11,12).

Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Excuse Five: I know you can find someone else (Ex 4:13)

Moses fell inferior: He compared himself to others-even his brother- and decided that he came up short. Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

"I have walked the long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter; I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that, after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. I have taken time here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can rest for a moment, for with freedom comes responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my walk is not yet ended." Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Learning, application and commitment: James 1: 22-25 • “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. • Do what it says. • Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. • But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does.” (NIV) Mandate for evangelism: Are you really doing enough?

Learning, application and commitment • One of the Biblical truths (principles) that I have learned from this lesson was … • I intend to apply this truth (principle) in my business/Ministry by: ….. • With the help of the Holy Spirit, I will begin applying this truth immediately.
